Not the most glamorous signing granted but the Liverpool defensive midfielder is only 28 and out of favour at Liverpool. He would provide good premier league experience and can be rotated with Behrami/Capoue. A good option for a one or two year contract.
Out of favour at Liverpool, not gonna start over Behrami/Capoue so why move here to be out of favour? '
Really? You wouldn't fancy him starting over Behrami or Capoue? I rate him to be honest. He has stagnated a little bit but I would be overjoyed if we were able to sign him. What's more - I would strongly consider starting him too.
The Behrami-Capoue partnership is by far the strongest part of our team at the moment. I'm still amazed that they both play for us. Breaking that up would be madness.
Very average. Don't get starstruck because he played for Liverpool. He wouldn't get near unseating Berahmi or Capoue.
There will be plenty of times when one of those two is injured or suspended. We do need a quality back up as they will get plenty of games.
A defensive mid pairing of Capoue and Leiva would be a fantastic core for our side. Rotate Behrami into that and, I for one would be a very happy supporter. Yes Behrami has been fantastic so far but three real quality midfielders vying for two positions would give us one of the strongest midfields in the division outside of the usual suspects.
He's a very good player - if he wasn't injured all the time then he would be a regular starter at Liverpool. Fully fit, playing week in week out he would be an upgrade for us in central midfield. However, firstly I don't believe he will stay fit on a consistent basis, and secondly he's never gonna come here anyway, so I've just wasted a minute of my life typing this comment :doom:
