Who writes / dreams up this shyte? Charlton chasing Watford striker King tribalfooball.com - March 22, 2007 Charlton Athletic boss Alan Pardew is chasing Watford striker Marlon King. The Hornets striker, 26, had knee surgery at the start of the season and Aidy Boothroyd's side have struggled for goals ever since. Charlton chief Pardew believes King - who hopes to be fit for Watford's FA Cup semi-final with Manchester United next month - could do a job for the Addicks next season. A bid of around £1million might be enough.
Quite why would anyone buy a striker who has been out for 6 months and who may not have the same pace and skill after a long term injury? I presume he was not not charged over that incident in London during the New year period?
tribalfooball.com is garbage and 99% of the time is completely wrong..but if King did go to charlton I wonder if Marlon will return to that famous Chip shop? ;-))))))
What an incredibly odd thing to say... i dont mean to be picky wfc4ever but what the hell does "quite why would anyone buy a striker........ (see above)" actually mean? I think you need to think before you type! We're are talking about 24 goal Marlon King here... a player worth an awful lot more than £1million. A player that almost single handedly got us promoted last year Why would anyone want him?? You stupid muppet! (sorry but I cant believe you actually put that!) .
has it occured to you that instead of defending the price tag he is questioning the wisdom in signing a long term injury player straight away? unless of curse you think madrid/woodgate - newcastle/owen were all great exampls of transfer magic?
the injury might knock off abit but thir still worth signing for 1 000 000. they can stick that offer up their ****
erm...yes you are right. Glad to see some think before they write. I did infact say who would buy a striker that has been out for 6 months and may not come back the same after a serious knee injury? (COPY AND READ THE WHOLE quote next time eh?) BTW Ofcourse we would not sell for 1 million...do you think Aidy would let that happen?
Me a muppet for questioning why somebody like Charlton would spend money on a player who has been out for 6 months with a bad knee injury without knowing he will be the same and a potential court case coming up? Oh well if that is a 'muppet' in your eyes then fine...
A Million is too cheap if he has his old pace and skill and too expensive if he doesn't. Slow news day.
ha aidy wudnt let it happen not unless next year wen he comes back hes not the same player (performance wise)
even if he is somehow alot worse i would bereluctant to sell. more than a skill player, does well for morale is is pivotal to us
Saw in NOTW that Portsmouth and Charlton are both interested in Marlon King. Still can't see him leaving though.
I just read that as well. Just wonder though if Marlon might be tempted with Portsmouth as that probably means more premiership footie.
