Little slideshow from 90min.com on "5 Things Watford Fans Need To About Jurado." Mostly stuff that has already been bantered around but some decent pictures and context. http://http://www.90min.com/posts/2386887-5-things-watford-fans-need-to-know-about-new-signing-jose-manuel-jurado
He has 4 arms so would be good backup GK http://www.watfordfc.com/news/artic...jurado-on-signing-for-watford-fc-2566623.aspx
"You've got to be pretty special to oust the likes of David Silva, Santi Cazorla, Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Cesc Fabregas from their spots on the main scene."# Can't see him pushing any of these players out of the Spanish side now. He hasn't been good enough so far, so I don't see what we've signed him for, unless it's as an Iwelumo "good for morale" type of player.
Went to the game today and Jurado was absolutely class. His control, his turns, his composure are easily top half prem quality. His cross to Troy for the goal was inch perfect and whenever he got on the ball he was very positive. Very encouraging.
I think, this time next year, Jose Jurado will be considered one of the best players we've ever seen play for Watford. Honestly.
But according to Moog he was a waste of money...that's based on his extensive scouting experience....
*Blasphemous statement incoming* Does this mean the lord, our saviour and the professor might not be in the first XI?
We could easily do: Gomes, Nyom, Cathcart, Prodl, Holebas, Capoue, Behrami, Berghuis, The Lord Saviour Professor, Jurado, Deeney
I don't have experience of lighting fires, bob a job, or camping with paedophile Akelas, but I do have experience of making wild and sweeping statements and some of them being alarmingly accurate, against all the odds.
I think that is a very good shout for the first team sheet. On the bench I would have Arlauskis, Hoban, Angella, Watson, Anya, Vydra and Ighalo
I remember seeing Parades' first game for us and thinking he looked decent too, so I'll reserve judgement until I've seen what he can do on a cold October night in Stoke. But in all seriousness, Jurado did look the absolute business today. If he can hit the heights he looks capable of, he's going to be one hell of a player for us.
Really? Show me.... I get the feeling you'd rather be proven right than see the club successful...just saying The season hasn't even *****ing started...yet you snipe and criticise...honestly...if we're successful, I'll wager most prefer you don't post again or you use another one of your profiles to post. In my industry you'd be known as a terrorist...wanting failure. If you've got nothing positive to say then don't say anything at all...you've become a parody of yourself...and quite frankly...you're boring the sh!t out of everyone. You don't like it...then furk off and stop boring everyone....you used to be funny...now...you just come across as a pr!ck.
Can imagine playing Vydra at RW to track/beat Baines for pace and Berghuis would have only been in the squad for 2 weeks. I'd be happy with Abdi in front of Capoue and Behrami (as DMs) with Jurado and Vydra on the wings!
If a stopped clock can be right twice a day, just think how many times you could be right if you make enough wild and sweeping statements! Sounds like a life plan in the making to me.
And also because is highly likely that Vydra is actually quite a lot better than Berghuis. I understand everybody is very excited about signing this chap, I am too because he seems a decent prospect, but let's not pretend he's going to be one of our star players this year.
Tend to agree with you here actually. Not that I'm dismissing the potential of Berghuis - it would be foolish to do so when I know absolutely nothing about the guy other than a youtube video. But with all these new exciting signings we forget that in Vydra we have a player with absolutely huge potential. One of the best finishers we've ever had and also tremendously skilful in his touch and link up play. Really really hope he gets a decent shot this season.
And for all the pedants out there - I guess Vydra is another of these "exciting new signings". But yeah, you know what I mean.
By the same token it would be foolish to dismiss him as better than anything we have presently....give the guy a chance.
Yeah, that wasn't mean to read as me not giving Berghuis a chance. I just think we're overlooking how good Vydra is and how good he can be in the midst of these new signings. I dunno, I just feel a real sense of attachment to players like Vydra who contributed to two of the most memorable seasons I've ever experienced. Of course, there's every chance we as a group of fans will forge a similar attachment with the likes of Berghuis after another fantastic season. Here's hoping.
I don't have an issue with that...we have an attachment with existing players and I'm the same...but ultimately the club's success is more important.
