Does anybody else not want anything to do with this lazy little prat? I don't think he's any better than Tommy Smith and he has a known attitude problem. Whatever happened to signing hungry young players who fit our culture?
Anyone we sign under £10 million is going to be carp. Anyone we sign over £10 million is going to be more expensive carp. Watford shouldn't have a football team. Turn the Vic into a huge casino and oarhouse with 24 hour binge drinking of which 23 hours is happy hours where the brasses and booze is free.
I remember a time (not too long ago) where you accepted other peoples oppinion Paddy! Think you should go back to being the way you used to be! (IMO of course!)
I sorta agree with u mate. I personialy think Tommy Smith will be excellent next year look at him in the Premiership he was beating most of the prem full backs and setting up goals, im just wondering if Boothroyd wants to get Jobi McAnuff in to please the fans as a big signing. Don't get me wrong his a good player but a little overrated and as mogul said a bit of a prat. But if we did get him and he plays good and doesnt act like a lazy little prat i will take my comments back
i dont think bothroyd will sign someone just to keep the fans happy, he will only sign him if aidy thinks he can do a job for us, and hopefully aidy will be able to sort out his attitude problem.
who said he's going to take smiths place? for 500 k he isn't going to have to play week in week out just to make it look like value for money. Plus, we're short on wingers as it is. When you got chambers and stewart (naturally fullbacks) covering the wings it can be a bit of a worry. We have two natural wingers (who are consistent week in week out etc), smith & Bouazza, did no one ever see this as just potential cover?
also with macca possibly going or at least not looking like hes going to play much and jaret (sp) being realeased we only have 2 decent wingers and we need more cos throughout the season there will be injuries, suspensions etc
"Promoted Derby's first foray into the transfer market will be for Crystal Palace winger Jobi McAnuff" From the Mirror.. Did Aidy actually say we were in for this guy or has it just been paper talk?
but just because its paper talk doesn't mean that were not interested in him, because at the very least we might have asked Palace about McAnuff
It's unlike most managers to come out and say they are interested in a player though the papers are hyping it up but i think we are interested in him as we do need wingers
A moderate player with an attitude problem who could be a fair Championship squad winger. Hasn`t really excelled at his current club, but would be ok on a Bosman.
I remember him being a big nuisance against us. Always feared him more than Johnson. Always got the better of Doyley who was pretty much one of the best right backs that season.
In BBC Friday Gossip Column: Crystal Palace want Teddy Sheringham. In order to fund the move manager Peter Taylor is listening to offers for midfielder Jobi McAnuff. (Star)
I've given up on this one. Be nice if he does still join. Matt Jarvis Gillingham next target perhaps?
Correct - too many clubs being linked now. I'm sure there's a deal already in place for Jarvis - otherwise I don't understand why no rumours are about on him. Just hope we're the ones getting him. That would be ace.
WATFORD lead the race to sign Jobi McAnuff after the Crystal Palace winger's £1million move to Derby collapsed. McAnuff, 25, was all set to switch to the Premiership new boys until Pride Park boss Billy Davies pulled the plug on Thursday. http://www.people.co.uk/sport/football/tm_method=full&objectid=19238996&siteid=93463-name_page.html
If that is true why would Billy Davies have pulled the plug? £1 million would be a good price...but the whole saga seems to have been going on for too long now
That's the last thing I can see happening. He went for that option last year and basically lost a year of his career in the wilderness.
I know what you mean but WFC only comment on transfers when they think it'll give them an edge (and it didn't work with Parkin and John) and I guess the same applies to Palace. Don't forget most management types are on holiday at the moment.
If he did sign he'd play on the wing so Tommy Smith could play up front maybe then we wouldnt need a new striker. But I would love harewood or Earnshaw.
