Gilmour I think is the far better player. Also far more dynamic although Garner is not a natural attacking midfielder by upbringing. Just the sort of player that would complement Pedro, Sarr and Zinckernagel. He would be an excellent acquisition and not far for him to travel. Tuchel will be out on his ear soon enough anyway and then he can go back or remain next season on loan hopefully in the PL.

I'd rather have Dan Phillips on the bench. He showed me in 5 minutes vs Preston that he can be more progressive than Garner.

Gilmour is easily good enough for a bottom half Premier League side. If he does go out on loan I'd imagine it'll be to someone like Fulham.

I quite like him tbh but I do get massive Josh Mceachran vibes

I agree, but the only thing I reckon could work out in our favour is if Chelsea would rather he play for a team looking to win most games rather than just survive

  6. Yes, was just trying to remember his name when i read your post....

Not sure what he actually does. I remember getting very frustrated with him when he got his first small run in the side because he seemed allergic to playing balls in behind for runners.

If Quina’s nearly back from his injury and we can get someone else in (Lea-Siliki?) then it would make sense to let him go elsewhere.

I hope we keep him just to continue to piss off the drooling manc hordes on twitter that post the same banal crap after every one of our matches.

Manc t i t: "how did garner play?"
    WFC hunk: "shyte"
Manc t i t: "that's because he's too good to be playing for watford!"

They really are a shower of bastards arent they.

It give me immense pleasure to think that we are slowly wrecking his career.

You might joke, but I think that's how we signed Billy Jennings. Larry McGettigan suggested to the club that he "brought along a mate who's not bad" to training one day...

Good point. Wonder if any of Gray’s poker-playing pals are any decent at football...

Agreed at least we would be developing one of our own, Phillips has looked just as promising as Garner in his few spells. The thing with Garner is I just don't understand what kind of midfielder he's suppose to be is he box to box, is he holding is he more attacking? Every pass that he plays is a 5 yard sideways ball.

I agree with above posts regarding Billy Gilmour if we can terminate Garners loan and bring him in that would be a cracking transfer.

I was one of those who suggested Gilmour. Dewsbery-Hall at Luton another loanee who would add a lot more than Garner.

I thought he looked decent in his early showings, nice and aggressive and looked capable of the progressive forward passes we need to move the ball quicker from back to front.

Not sure what changed, but he’s provided nothing in recent games, reverting to short, easy passes. Needs to show more adventure in his play if he’s going to do anything with himself.

    Wash your mouth out.

And Gilmour going to Rangers by all accounts (if he moves).

Think it’s still early days with Gilmour rumours but Rangers would make a lot of sense if he wants to get in Scotland’s Euro squad.

That’s all well and good but it’s still not an apology for suggesting a L*ton player.

This question has already been asked, apparently he doesn’t have any aces up his sleeve!

Possibly unless Chelsea would prefer him closer to London.

Except he's a Leicester player on loan. We would weaken L*ton considerably by taking their best player and they wouldn't get any money for it. Surely you'd be on board with that.

Currently plays for L*ton. Therefore a L*ton player. And every player who plays for them is crap by association. So I most certainly would not be on board.

Has anyone else seen the picture going round Facebook and Insta that states that Deeney and Gray have scored 2 goals from open play between them in 1,800 minutes? I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry when I seen it.

We did try to insert and option to buy clause when we signed him.

Started off brightly but looks like a young player on his first loan in men's football.

LOL, there was a time when he was alright in around November time and some Watford fans were proper bigging him up

Maybe it was Ivic's tactics that caused him to start playing sideways and backwards only, admittedly his set pieces are poor, but he did in the early days of his loan seem to want to get forward and take a shot, maybe Xisco can work with that and tease some decent football out of him.

It all started when he smashed that free kick against the bar vs Reading, we hadn't seen a free kick like that since the Tozser days. Everyone got a bit excited after that.

Maybe we should try him up front, he can't be worse than Gray surely :D
