    Dyche interview

I can confirm My Local News is a real, human person indeed.

We visit the training ground every Thursday for the press conference with Sean and the occasional interview with a player. Last month was Marvin Sordell.

The reason we post it as a link is to drive readers to our site.

    Hope this clears that up.

    Cheers

A couple of interesting nuggets in there.

Is the cinnamon lounge in king's langley any good?

Does he measure the pitch with a tape measure or pace it out? If he paces it out he should be sure to wear the same wellies each week, failure to do so can lead to misleading results. (I know this, my neighbour's fencer fell foul of this golden rule and only realised after he cemented the posts in.)

Is a lower level of testerone, in the body an advantage or disadvantage? Presumably, the higher levels would help with extra energy and improved physical performance but perhaps the lower levels would lead to a more relaxed prep and better decision making??

    Here's the article:

Watford gaffer Sean Dyche gave us an insight today into his forensic attention to detail ahead of Saturday’s away game against Reading.
He said: “I’ve heard people go on about the size of the pitch at the Madjeski Stadium but I’ve measured it and it’s not as big as people say. I measure every pitch we play on. It was a habit I got into as a player.
“It’s not a huge part of preparation but some players get ideas into their heads about away grounds and pitches and if they ask I’ll put them right and give them the facts.”
With a trip to Barnsley the following Saturday being added to the trip up the M4 to Reading, Dyche outlined why he believes away games are a psychological challenge players need to rise to.
“There has been scientific tests on players which showed more testosterone is produce by the home team than the away side. Psychology is a massive part of football and life in general. We aim to get the players into a mind set which I call ‘relaxed focus.’ It’s where players are focussed on the game to be sharp but relaxed enough not to allow nerves or anxiety to affect them.”
Aside from matters of the mind Dyche is positive about the club’s future and how many of his young players including the in-form Marvin Sordell are developing.
The international break which saw Sordell star for England u-21s gave Dyche and his staff a chance to work with the players on tactics and other more domesticated matters. He said: “The two weeks gave us a chance to help the players we brought in on loan to get settled and find places to live. We watched games, went over tactical stuff and allowed the players a little break.
“With the addition of players last month there’s now competition for places in the squad but we are still looking at loan options. We want people fighting for the shirt.”
Dyche confirmed that there were a few minor niggles in the camp but nothing that should effect team selection on Saturday.

That could be our secret weapon, change the dimensions of the pitch every home game and oppo won't have a clue.

  10. Cinnamon lounge is great.

I'm not a big fan of MyNews writing.

    That is all.
