Not sure about whether I would like this or not, as personally I have never quite understood the hype about him. Having said that, he is still young and has WM perhaps stifled his potential?

On balance the new boss should probably be given the chance to assess him and decide on what to do.

We seriously need to show faith in the younger talent we sign. This constant revolving conveyor belt of a transfer system we seem to operate is fine for more senior players, but the danger is the less experienced ones get moved on too fast (I know the article doesn't actually say Success is leaving). They need time and patience, and hopefully next season some way better coaching and encouragement too. Otherwise why would the future likes of Success, Penaranda, Sinclair etc ever consider joining us? We could even had lost Doucoure back in January.

Rather not sell him to a rival club - we all know what would probably happen next!

I expect that is what will happen, ditto for most of the others

Sounds like Isaac and his agent are negotiating a contract renewal.

  6. GoingDown

Sounds like good news. Get the last elements of excitement out of the team. We need a teamful of Amrabats and Jurados.

    That's the trick.

  7. Carpster

I hope you're right. He needs a consistent run in the team. Maybe a new forward thinking manager will give him the chance he needs.

Doucoure is the example. He wouldn't of even got a game without our injury list. No doubt the most consistent player we've had since Jan.

Think it would be a real shame to let him go. The potential he showed earlier in the season suggests he could become a very good player, and it's clear that the further the season went on, his relationship with Wally deteriorated (he wasn't alone, was he?!)

With the right coach in charge, and a formation that allows him minimal defensive duties, I reckon he'll do well.

Would be an absolutely ridiculous decision to let him go already unless his attitude is completely and utterly horrendous.

If we sell him and Niang goes too then that's two strikers and three wingers we'll need.

    A few observations:

This sounds like a classic case of "Agentstiringitis" which usually surfaces in early summer and mid winter.

West Ham have been linked with every player on the planet bar Wilf Mannion and Lionel Messi. Palace aren't too far behind.

Seems to go against that tried and tested "Watford Bingo" favourite of doesn't fit the Pozzo way of buying young and selling on for a profit.

There could be something in the West Ham United interest. They have a very wealthy Nigerian fan.

    https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2016/october/14-october/hammers-nigerian-partnership-confirmed

There is an existing Watford link behind this Nigerian oil rich businessman and football nut, Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah. The guy is a big cheese in the Nigerian FA, owns a Nigerian club he has renamed after himself, and whose goalkeeper was in the Nigerian national squad that Success got a game for at Barnet FC earlier in the year> This when WFC said Isaac was not playing as he was not fully fit (!).

So IF Isaac Success is pissed off that he's being badly treated at Watford, this guy might be his saviour and pushing for him to get of of Vicarage Road.

    http://www.fctgist.com/2016/06/dr-patrick-ifeanyi-ubah-sponsors-team.html

So he's certainly helped Odion Ighalo and was pictured with him at an event in London when Odion was hot property. So the Dr Ubah loves publicity and self promotion.

So the Nigerians who have invested in West Ham and promote all their countrymen may have big ideas that Isaac Success should go to another team, one that they are already invested in (or could bankroll) to get Isaac game time to help the Nigerian national side and their profile in the EPL and Europe.

The bloke seems rich enough to bank roll a move for Isaac Success from his wealth, which as he controls 40% of Nigerian Oil will no doubt put in the shade any wealth the Pozzo family or even the Gold family have.

Although Ubah was locked up this week in an ongoing dispute about business and political influence of his oil company as the political situation in Nigeria is, er, very political and delicate, and that may put the mockers on things!

    Nice bit of background, thanks.

I don't reckon we will let him go. He's currently far from the saviour many were labelling him, but harness his skill and he could be a world beater in a couple of years time.

Don't sell unless a huge bid comes in, especially with Niang possibly not returning and Amrabat getting worse by the week. Hes young with plenty of potential and was barely given a chance last season. A more forward thinking manager would probably appreciate his abilities more than Mazzarri does.

As it is we're short in the forward/wing department already. If we lose our only 2 exciting wingers it's just a bigger battle for next season. Deeney, okaka and zarate could be our only forward options

Looks the best prospect on our books still, though how his form dropped since coming back from injury was a worry. I hope we keep him and he can keep progressing.

Success has not been given any run in the side. The mystery is his fitness/ stamina which Mazzari always cites as a reason for him not getting game time. If he does leave Gino will want serious money 18 plus million pounds cash and a 30 per cent sell on fee with various international appearance add ons. This might put wet spam off as the risk would be transferred to the buying club. I dearly want to see Success getting regular time on the pitch, but he can certainly go if his head's been turned. This is the real damage caused when coaches make poor decisions during the season COYHs

Thete are stories that he refused to come on as a sub after WM put others on before him. So he has been dripped and that is why these transfer stories are surfacing.
Hopefully next season he will have a fresh start with us.

Not sure how I feel about Success.

He looked great in the first half of the season, but almost every time he has come on as a sub in the last few months he has been pretty crap IMO. Perhaps he is adjusting to life in the PL, but his constant selfies and stories on Instagram don't really sit well with me to be honest. It gives me the impression that he's a bit of a primadonna. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Maybe in the first half of the season he still had some match fitness from getting games at Grenada, after that he lost his match fitness, due to Walter never playing him, re the selfies, maybe Photography was the hobby he took up to fill his wasted time.
