He was on the bench for our last game, so can't be entirely frozen out. It wouldn't be a huge stretch to consider he might not really be ready for the Champ yet though. As an aside, Hungbo isn't even that fast.

Find me one post where anyone has suggested Blake is a ‘saviour’. Just one? Maybe it’s that some fans aren’t inclined to give Sarr any more chances to ‘dial in’ performances of zero effort and they feel like a player of his stature should be brought down a peg or 2 rather than endlessly being put in the starting line-up for zero reward? And Blake looks a good hope. Has been scoring goals and is looking like he has something many of our current attackers don’t have - confidence. So yeah, I want him to start the next game and given a run.

So you want to get all light heated here and say your comments are a joke - but then on other threads you can’t see something as a joke and dive off the deep end believing comments are being made about you. Paranoid much.
Asprilla is super talented but still isn't really ready at 18. He's seriously struggled in recent games and had to be hooked. JP also has loads of ability and arrived having scored a few goals in Brazil, yet it's taken him until about 20 to get consistency. The idea that one of our academy grads, who seems unlikely to be much more gifted than say Asprilla and JP, can make a major impact in the Championship at 17 is a stretch. Unless he's another Wayne Rooney, which seems unlikely.
Whilst I agree, I’m not looking for a ‘major’ impact. I want someone who is willing to put themselves about and put the effort in - because too much recently, the ones who are playing won’t do that. I’m not suggesting Blake should come in and play 20 games. I’m hoping for short term impact until we get other players back or until it makes the penny drop with those who are fit that they can’t just dial in dross and expect to keep playing. I would also say that suggesting he has to be another ‘Rooney at 17’ to be a success is a leap and a half.

Agree. I think we just have no connection at all with this squad and that is the key issue for me. Cathcart, JP, Sema, and maybe Sierralta when fit, are the only players I feel are on it, the rest are "couldn't give a toss" journeymen. GP has to change his MO of setting 2 separate club budgets.. One for playing squad and another for player trading, we can't work that way and it destroys us. (don't all shout, I know he can't for various reasons) we're a broken club..
And what if he's someone who combines Asprilla's lack of physicality with Hungbo-esque lack of technical ability? I have no idea as I've never seen him play, but it's not impossible.
Then nothing ventured, nothing gained. Or we could put out the same players who clearly aren’t putting effort in. I’m not suggesting we do this long-term. I’m suggesting we give it a try short-term and evaluate.
I sort of agree, but then again his current performances are not exactly doing anything very positive towards his market value . I was thinking that if he were to be relegated to the bench, then it might motivate him to play a lot better when brought on as sub, then again perhass not, who knows.
Really? I thought he was really poor today. He beat a man twice - once on the right hand side in the second half, then when he assisted Bayo (which he did very well...). Otherwise he did very little and broke at least 2 promising attacks down with poor passes.
Yeah I think it'll be overlooked as he got a good assist but I wasn't overly impressed with his effort today. Left Morris with a lot of work to do down that side and barely looked interested. Sell him and get a couple of players who want to be here (or more likely pay off some debt).
Very good point. Chap making his first start for the first team and he offered zero support. I'll retract this if Bilic told him to stay up the pitch but I doubt it.
Yeah Bilic could have told him to keep high and push Norwich back, but I wasn't impressed with his lack of support for Morris. But what do I know!
Yeah, Sarr had hardly been in the match prior to the assist. Davis and even Kalu had got involved in the game more than him.
Thought he looked ok second half and obviously played a massive part in the goal. Need more from him but thought he at least looked interested

They have a big budget to spaff on an attacking player now that their move for Jackson at Villareal is off.

Put the price up to £30m because it’s January - and let buyers know that any sale is dependant on Pellistri signing or us somehow convincing United to recall Diallo and send him here. But the reality is, it’s very unlikely we sell. And those fans hoping we do sell him - there’s a wider fallout. Bilic wants a new winger but we go and sell the star(!) one we have. No chance that ends well. Bilic won’t care about the healthy bank balance.
