Reading the FL regulations for International Loans state that they are treated the same as Standard Loans for certain regulations including the following one 53.2.7 Standard Loans which subsequently become permanent transfers (which can occur any time during the period of the Standard Loan) shall not count against a Club’s quota of such Standard Loans for that Season. Therefore Ighalo has signed permanently for us and is no longer classed as a loan player which means we were fine yesterday.
We had 5 + Ighalo. The maximum on loan allowed on a team sheet is 5. Obviously they've found another loophole. Good old Pozzos.
After losing £30m on Britt and being deducted 20 points for breaking FL rules yesterday, how long before Gino finally swallows his pride and hires HB1 as an advisor?
Nope. It's not at all applicable to the situation at hand in my opinion. But I've exceeded my quota of pedantic law mongering of late and decided to wind my neck in for now.
But, for clarification, you are saying it is definitely not for the reason which Dreadnought and Godfather have put forward (as per previous posts)? It seems quite a compelling argument, and the meaning of the clause quite explicit.
Luca Brasi held a gun to his head, and my father assured him that either his brains or his signature would be on the contract
Yes, on a second check you're right. Dreadnought was also right to quote it. I've now found the linked part of the regulation, which I couldn't earlier for some reason, which proves me wrong. Apparently a standard or international loan can be converted into a permanent transfer at any time, including even when the transfer window is shut. There was no need for him to cancel his contract with Udinese first either. I find that quite amazing but the Football League are pretty much world leaders when it comes to sticking two fingers up at FIFA and their transfer window idea so I suppose I shouldn't be that surprised.
He already 'started it' after he got Ranegie from us/Udinese didn't he? Can't find his silly quotes at the moment
