.............. we'll need to utilise what we've already got (assuming we don't sell them or send any of them out on loan). We seem to want / need a central attacking midfielder. Can we not play Troy in that role, behind any 2 of Iggy / Vydra / Success / Sinclair ?
Not a chance given the games we start with. Will be capoue or doucoure as furthest fwd CM with Watson in the 11.
For the first two home games I expect we will consider deploying a flexible 3-6-1 quickly switching to 5-4-1 when the opposition gets the ball.
We could but given the tough first few games and the fact he generally prefers 3-5-2 I would have thought he'd be happy to play 3 reasonably defensive CMs behind a front 2. Just my view.
Going to be surprised that it's possible for us to be more shambolic than we were at the end of last season.
Or maybe we'll carry on from where we left off last season and will surprise a few different people, including you. TBH I haven't a clue what to expect, what formation we'll use, who will be in the team and whether we'll be any good. Only another 9 days to wait before we find out.
If we don't get anyone else in we'll probably have to start thinking about our squad for the Championship.
Possibly, but those people won't be other premier league players who remember that without any creativity in midfield, if you keep Deeney quiet, you have nothing else to worry about. .....assuming we get no-one else in to play that role, which I don't think will be the case
There are still 35 league games to play after the window shuts. Obviously we would all prefer to have our new attacking mid in situ for St Mary's but it's not do or die. The closing of the window is.
Deeney's season only got going when he started playing deep. Just chuck him in as attacking midfielder and see what happens.
Last season I was fairly confident we would stay up ,after all we had Abdi , what could possibly go wrong ? Now I am very worried we have a very defensive midfield , 2 strikers that oppo defences have worked out , if anyone had a hint of creativity they have been sold or loaned , and I know not to read too much into preseason games ,but we are struggling v qpr we were shambolic and thats being kind! No wonder any half decent juventus player doesnt want to join us !
I doubt we will be paying £17 mill for Lemina, its hardly a position we are desperate for The ox would be worth a look, gone off the rails a bit but still young enough to put him back together again
