In my view he is, in your opinion Xavier Gravelaine is after his seven first team appearences. Anyway, I didn't say he was anyway; i said 'he is given the treatment of a legend' which undoubtedly is.
That's fair enough - he's not a 'legend' in relation to the likes of Luther Blissett, or the modern day Tommy Smith - but in relation to Ellington, most people could be granted 'legend' status. J.B's other points stand, based on wages & goals, Bubble's preference for bringing the lump back over Hendo, just doesn't stand up.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H76Vqj80X_g Wouldn't hurt to have another left footer in the squad either, currently lacks balance.
I bet you 99% of Watford fans (myself included) didnt notice that Hendo was left footed until he took that penalty Shows how often he used his feet, HOOOOF
Whatever way you look at it, we will always be a club that likes to get the ball wide and deliver the ball into the box. As that video that Kane posted showed - put the ball on his head and he'll score goals. He's also score with his feet too. I don't want to be seen as 'worshiping' Henderson for 1 second, however, we could do a LOT worse than bringing him back, especially given the youthfulness of our squad. We also have to be realistic - CMS is unlikely to be in a Watford shirt next season, and it looks almost certain that DG will be on his way - he's a physical presence, we need a similar presence to replace him.
Would love to have him back, would be nice to have a striker that can score numerous headers, because the amount of corners and set pieces wasted is ridiculous. But if we can keep DG then he shouldn't needed.
The daily Mirror (who are usually wrong) say he has a £2.5M fixed fee in his contract. Can't see us agreeing to that as he would still have had a year left on his old contract this summer and that almost certainly wouldn't have had pre-sale fee agreement.
http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/new...-goal-machine-Danny-Graham-article730775.html "Watford want a stunning £2.5 million for goal machine Danny Graham - as the Hornets fight to keep their top scorer. The former Middlesbrough and Carlisle forward is attracting huge interest after the best season of his life and will be a target for several in the summer. But Watford are holding out for a huge fee and have put the fixed price in his contract to make sure they are protected if bigger clubs make offers."
How is 2,5M stunning when speaking of a hard working high scoring forward? 2,5M is nothing compared to what he is truly worth.
The same rag also has Doncaster wanting 2.5mio for Billy Sharp on that basis Graham is worth every penny of 5mio.
Just an idea, but when/if Danny goes, Billy Sharp would be a fantastic replacement, although i'm sure there will be teams who can offer much larger wages coming in for him. Having said that, the ever reliable footie rumours today posted... Billy Sharp is set to leave Doncaster Rovers for around £1 million and sign a three year contract with Watford
Billy Sharp is an unpleasant scrot head I wouldn't want within 10 miles of VR. He is a foul-mouthed whinger.
Read the above. We might as well become a prison team. Next we'll be signing Marcos Alonso another canute.
I'd love it if Marlon came back. There's a Watford legend for you. If we signed Marlon and got a profit on the deal from Graham, we'd be laughing. Marlon is a better all round player anyway.
I'd have Marlon back in a flash. He is on £11k/week at Cov apparently mind, although they have offered him a new contract which I suppose will be on slightly lower terms.
Offer him 7K a week, a new BMW and 1,500 GBP for every goal and he will jump to come back to Vicarage Road. Malky knows him game inside and out and he would be lethal with Darius as his partner. Still leaves us with a new goalkeeper and back four to sort out but that's only a small matter.
That would be one hell of an achievement if we managed to bring Darius and Marlon back together. Obviously won't happen, Sordells the new King so no point.
Footie Rumours tonight claims we're to sign Clayton Donaldson, Leauge 2's top goal scorer on a free from Crewe, probably nothing in it - but is the type of transfer we'll be looking at this summer and could be a very good bit of business, he's scored goals where ever he's been. Also noticed that Derek Riordan will be on a free this summer, good striker but probably a little out our price range in terms of the likely huge wage demands.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...m-ready-Premier-League.html?ito=feeds-newsxml Seems to suggest that he would only really like a move to the premiership, which is fair enough really! He also says he would only leave to the right club and would have to think hard about a possible move.
