They probably all liked Munoz and found the last 2 managers old school and tried to be disciplined in their approach.

Bad PR for the club I suppose, sending a national treasure who has just been honoured with a CBE, into retirement with a pointless sacking.

    Would be quite funny though

He can be honest as he likes in 3 games time once he’s left. He can kiss as many Palace fans as he wants then as well. But rejoicing in our relegation then trashing the side he still has to manage for 3 more games is just taking the p1ss. If you want to defend him over this, then I’ll leave you to it.

This might make sense, but for the simple fact he’s also been a complete ***** towards the fans too.

He just doesn’t give a shyte. There’s no noble cause he’s trying to highlight here.

My point is: why is he taking the piss out of us? He has no track record of taking the piss over many decades of management. WFC did that to Roy Hodgson. He's reacting to who we are and what we've become. Its a sad and tragic indictment of us not him.

Without fans we had the best home record in our league, with fans we have the worst home record of all time. Maybe Roy sees a connection there.

Im not saying Roy is being noble but I am applauding his honesty about the train wreck of a club we've become. Most managers would just take the money and run and not speak out about the problems here. Im grateful to Roy for confirming the severe structural management issues we have at the club.

I have little doubt you’re right. I was just making the slightly tongue-in-cheek comment that it would be hilariously ironic if, after having promised us a new era of backing managers and not hiring-firing every five minutes etc, practically the next thing they did was to fire one! (Even if he deserves it in this case)

It you wanted to make that happen you'd have to perform some quite extensive surgery on him and then cryogenically freeze him til he looks 10-20 years younger than me. It might sound like a bit of a challenge but it would be nothing compared trying to sort out the management of WFC.

Pearson is easily the best manager we've had since Javi left.

LOL at the notion that Roy Hodgson has never taken the p*ss in his whole managerial career.

He came bottom of the group in World Cup 2014 and was then dumped out of the Euros by Iceland - and stated he had ‘no idea’ why he had been forced to face the media afterwards when trying to wriggle out of it.

My take on Hodgson’s train wreck of a spell here: although I may be saying it with the benefit of hindsight as, while like many I wasn’t enamoured by his appointment due to his age and the fact that his last few seasons at Palace have been pretty uninspiring, I thought he could be good for us as he did really well at Fulham and in his first season at Palace having arrived at those clubs in similar situations, it’s actually not that surprising if you examine the earlier (especially recent) part of his career.

His last two seasons at Palace finished very poorly, and the team either struggled for goals or defensively. There was always a risk we might get at least one of those bad traits, especially with a weaker team and under a manager who’d come out of retirement and may be rusty. Over his career, one of his weaknesses even at Palace was while he was generally good at setting up teams, he was reluctant to make subs, and when he did they were sometimes questionable both player and timing-wise. His football could often be cautious and dull, he could sometimes make strange choices in selection (all those needless changes against Slovakia) and he persisted with favourites for too long based more on past reputation than how they performed in the present (Rooney in Euro 2016, along with Sterling before he really made it on the big stage). Despite his reputation for being a gentleman, he had an arrogant and stubborn streak (still getting Kane to take corners during the first half against Wales) and could be needlessly surly with the media.

Sadly for us, all those faults have been concentrated during his short and disastrous spell here - playing Sema for the full 90 at Burnley and subbing him on for a fair few games afterwards, continuing to pick a past-it Cleverley (and employing him and Kucka as wingers!), poor game management (points thrown away in the dying minutes against Brentford and Burnley, like the failure of his England side to see out games against Russia and Iceland), dour football which is nowhere near good enough defensively to be even pragmatic (even the few clean sheets haven’t been convincing) and inability to establish an identifiable style of play. Add to that the personality flaws listed above, a mind possibly decayed by age (as witnessed by his numerous illogical comments) and likely incompatible personalities in a number of the players (not so much his fault in fairness), and you have this most unappetising mixture that has resulted in 8 points in 15 games, a record-breaking run of home defeats and relegation with something to spare after we needed a boost more than at any point in the season.

I hate him but don’t see this as a negative, in fact I’m glad someone’s said what we can all see. Normally feels like most Pozzo managers have been under some kind of NDA or something because someone like Nigel Pearson doesn’t normally go quietly..

What I find kinda crazy about it all - isn’t so much that he did it. But that it was largely predicted beforehand that it was exactly what he would do.

If he was such a great guy with principles and integrity, so many fans wouldn’t have accurately predicted his ridiculous behaviour.

I don’t believe for one moment it was just instinctive from him to do it in the moment. He knew where he was going all week, he knows the layout of the stadium, he knew what the reaction would be.

    He didn’t give a single f*ck.

I can genuinely see him quitting or being sacked at half time on Wednesday. We'll be 3-0 down and everywhere will be booooing.

I don’t think even this club would sack someone at HT. And we’d no doubt have to pay him in that event. Plus the attitude of the man tells me he won’t walk, he doesn’t give a f*ck about what we think of him.

Plus, the booing will be mild - I think we all know that. Predictions of a big, hostile atmosphere will be largely overstated.

Surely we only pay off his contract, which is the same as saying goodbye at the end of the season?

Probably right about the booing being mild.

Have any of you seen that old video of Phil Brown when he was Hull's manager? He gave the HT team talk on the pitch! He was so incensed with how badly they played he wanted their fans' to hear it first hand. I think they still lost the game, but can you imagine Roy doing that, and especially to our shirkers? I have this image of Sema on his iPhone at HT and Foster "liking" comments on his videos.

Given the absolute apathy and lack of any coaching or management in recent weeks from Hodgson, it’s far more likely that he’d be the one sat on his phone.

Not an NDA as such, but the pay-off isn't instant the moment they're sacked so they're actually still being paid by the club for a while afterwards. Talking ill of the owners whilst still being owed money is a risk not worth taking.
