I stopped bothering to subscribe to it a while back. Between the technical issues and the games that aren't broadcast, it's just not worth the money.

Have you already had the partial refund?
I emailed on Sunday ( as i do most Sundays as Hive regularly fails) but havent received any refund and haven't had a refund all season despite the general shitness of the service

I've struggled with it a lot this season more than other seasons. The numbers 404 followed the word ERROR are common place. It's just crap, it was last season and the season before that. Constantly buffering, losing signal, volume issues. £10.00 per game and you wonder just where that money is going. It certainly doesn't seem like it's going into making sure the service is as good as it can be each game. Our own Shout box is more reliable for score updates. Pathetic, sort it out Gino!

Try sending them a slightly more strongly worded email. If you consistently get poor service there is no reason they should ignore your issues. Demand your money back - it's a pay-to-view service/subscription, so you deserve the best quality for your money. If not, you deserve your money back.

I have cut back on attending away games, and would be a prime customer for this if it was any good.

I don't generally watch live matches on tv, and see the Amazon Prime is a gateway to TNT sports at £30 a month.

Hive at £10 a match that often offers a technical experience akin to dial up internet is not a good offer in the market imho.

Have you ever had a reply? If so please let me have the email address you sent your complaint to.

Seems to be a total waste of time tbh and money most importantly.

  9. They have refunded 4 times this season, both audio and video, I think by the Monday after the game, and without me asking.

I sent an email on Saturday, summarising the issue that day and emphasising the frequency of issues, detailing my expectations in terms of apology, refund and fix to the address on the website: watfordtv@streamamg.com

I got this impersonal email on Monday. It's unclear whether this due to my complaint or an update to all subscribers. I haven't received notice of a refund yet, although for me the inability to follow matches I can't attend is by far the biggest issue here.

    Dear Hive Live subscriber,

We are sorry the service you paid for and are entitled to from Hive Live has been well short of par – not just on Saturday just gone, but across a number of other matchdays this season.

And we also regret not issuing an apology during November 4’s matchday explaining that we were aware of audio shortcomings and what the expectations around their resolution might be.

Hive Live is our product and Watford FC is accountable for its reliability. This is why we are therefore unhappy at the service being anything less than at optimal level, and prepared to offer appropriate refunds / rebates when things fall short of expectations.

That said, we have found ourselves too often in a position where we are apologising for the operational shortcomings of other companies and we have for some weeks been discussing ways in which we can remove as many points of failure from this relatively complex chain which results in the output you should be enjoying without compromise.

Here at Watford FC, we’re unable to deliver the product to you directly, due to the way that live football is transmitted in the UK via the league’s network, so are therefore totally reliant on a number of external partners – who are charged with providing the core technological competencies – to ensure the viability of the Hive Live service.

During lockdown we were able to establish the Hive Live brand among our supporters due to its reliability and output quality, however the past two seasons have, regretfully, fallen short of those standards on a number of occasions.

We will be issuing a rebate to all those whose service payments included the November 4 Huddersfield Town away fixture. While the video feed was unaffected throughout, the audio service was not provided as expected and this will be reflected as below.

For those with an audio seasonal or monthly subscription and for those who bought an audio match pass, a rebate of £2.50 will be processed.

For those with a video seasonal or monthly subscription and for those who bought a video match pass, a rebate of £5.00 will be processed.

A separate email confirmation will be dispatched by our digital AV provider once the above has been actioned.

We remain committed to doing everything we can to provide the best possible experience for Hive Live subscribers for the remainder of this season, and will not hesitate to offer recompense where services are not delivered to optimal standard.

Thank you most sincerely for your support, and moreover for your patience and understanding as we seek to hold our external broadcast partners to account.

    Best wishes

The Watford FC Hive Live Production Team

Haven't bothered with HL since last season when it was sh1te. It's an appalling service in an age when it really shouldn't be, backed up by equally appalling 'customer service'.

Haha, you're obviously a more valued customer than I am! I had to write 2 emails ( on Sunday and yesterday) to get this response:
    Thanks for waiting.

Your refund has been processed and should hit your account in 5-7 days. If you have any more questions, just hit reply and I'll sort you out.

    Many thanks,

I still haven't heard anything back.
Hive is a pay per view/ listen service and I didn't have any commentary for the whole of the Huddersfield game so I absolutely should get a partial refund for this game.

Can you explain why I haven't heard anything when there so obviously was an issue( as documented by numerous comments on tbe Watford fc Twitter feed last Saturday)

    Hi J,

    Thanks for your email.

I have passed your refund request on to the team, who will review it. Refund requests are dealt with Monday to Friday 9am-5pm (excluding public holidays).

    Certainly no automatic refund

Think I've paid for it 4 times this season, the rest I've bothered with I just stream for free on Kodi which can be a bit hit or miss. The times I have paid the stream has worked but commentary not working seems to be a common issue, then again, not having to listen to Mooney isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I bet the club are surprised how many of us are based overseas.......

What a shitshow today. I’m getting 40% commentary, then weird distortion noise. Then silence. Then commentary with Jon Marks having to apologise for ‘gremlins’…it’s really poor

One stream i'm watching has no sound but is good quality, the other stream has sound but is of poor quality, not paying for it though so not complaining. I do subscribe to the £5 a month audio package as a back up though.

As for the email and compensation thing I usually find them to be pretty good.

  17. One for photography buffs - is it just me but is there quite a lot of chromatic aberration on the feed? It's not as clean as, say, MOTD.

Mine improved after 30 minutes or so. Maybe for once it wasn't the fault of their service.
