    Delicious post.

The key thing is it’s the anti Pozzo brigade who in the wrong here because they want to be right, rather than the owner’s fault for seemingly facing an avalanche of tax evasion charges.

An extraordinary post even by your standards.

In case it passed you by, we don’t need a “chink of light”. We were proved comprehensively correct several years ago and continue to be proved so, irrespective of how some oddball fans are desperate to spin things.

Some absolute whoppers on here and online doing backflips and cartwheels to defend Gino, quite amusing really.

I don't think anyone is defending him. I think plenty are just saying it's sad that some fans see this as a good thing despite the issues it might cause for the club, that's all.
No idea what "We were proved comprehensively correct several years ago and continue to be proved so" or the need for the "oddball" comment. Plenty of posters have resisted the temptation to direct that same insult, or similar, at a minority who want to see their club fail because they don't like the owner.

Correct me if I’m wrong, and maybe it’s gone over my head, but I don’t think anyone has seriously said they want the allegations to be true, or they actively want Gino to be a Tax evader?

I think all anyone has said is if he is guilty, then he should be punished, as opposed to saying if he’s guilty, they would rather he wasn’t punished or caught, because it would be bad for the club.

If you prefer the latter then football probably means a bit more than it should to you.

Maybe just a misunderstanding then. I don’t think anyone has said they want him to get off if he’s guilty, just that they hope he’s not guilty and this comes to nothing.

For the avoidance of doubt, I wouldn’t see it as a good thing should any charges be brought against Gino.

Gino going to prison and coming out a changed man could be the reset this club desperately needs

Previous owners like Bassini committing crimes but somehow staying out of prison has given the fanbase unrealistic expectations and a sense of entitlement towards the criminal justice system

I hope these allegations are true and that Gino is a tax evader. If he's guilty, he shouldn't be punished though. I think it would be good for the club.

  12. 1. THREAD | Udinese spread a statement containing lies about the judicial case opened against Gino Pozzo: "The investigation in question concerns the Granada football club and not directly the person of Gino Pozzo. The judicial authority had already closed the case."
    2. Well then. That's a lie. Investigating Judge Pedraz archived the case in 2022, but the Criminal Chamber of the National Court (higher instance) forced him to reopen it after an appeal from the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.
    3. After reopening the case, the judge himself saw sufficient evidence of a crime and proposed trying Gino Pozzo, among others.
4 This January, the judge issued the order to open the oral trial against Gino Pozo. Here you can see the writing with his name. Very clear. As much as Udinese denies it, here is the court decision.
    5. And the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, as we have said today in
    @the country
, asks Gino Pozzo for 12 years in prison for leading a "criminal plan" to defraud the Treasury. To Gino Pozzo. Here you can read his name very clearly in the prosecution's indictment.

As long as it was just "a criminal plan" we have nothing to worry about. What are the chances of Gino following through and successfully delivering "a plan" ?

From what a lot of people have said, it seems that the most likely outcome (if found guilty) is he won’t actually get a custodial sentence, but Gino will have to pay a large fine instead, the threat of jail is just a means to extract a large fine as the slightly better option.

So as an entity who technically owe tens of millions to Pozzo (even though Duxbury has said he’ll never call it in) what will actually hit the club hardest, an owner who we owe millions to having to find the cash to pay a massive multi-million euro fine, or instead him going to prison?

As you say, he will probably pay a huge fine, which would make our owners even poorer and less able to fund the club. Would be the worst outcome. Best outcome = not guilty, second best = jail, worst = huge fine.

I think people are just equating this to the scenarios that Messi, Ronaldo and Shakira (Shakira) experienced regarding tax charges.

I don’t think any of them were ever accused of being ‘criminal masterminds’ like our guy.

Although I do recall that when pressed, prosecutors said that believed Shakira’s evidence because….

    The hips don’t lie.

I think I have said it before and I will say it again. GIVE GINO A BREAK. We have no idea what the facts are. The Spanish tax authorities have a track record of these type of cases against high profile individuals and most of them get dismissed. There have been other cases against Gino in Spain which resulted in charges being dropped. He has been found guilty of nothing at this stage. Deal with it when and if it happens.

I cannot understand why there are so many people on this forum that are delighted to rub their hands with glee and can't wait for Gino to come a cropper. Who knows where that would leave our club. Be careful what you wish for.

At the end of last season our team was on its knees, we were all fed up including Gino with a bunch of players that did not seem to care a toss. We wanted that to change it has. We wanted finances to improve and debts to be reduced it has. We wanted more interaction with Gino and the club that has happened. We wanted Gino to back a manager and give him time that has happened. We even wanted Gieratta to go and thats happened

Our team are playing better and winning games we at least seem to have a bunch of players that care and most of us are enjoying our football more this season. We are a couple of points off the play offs, the away form has improved and a good run could make the end of season interesting.

So Give Gino a Break and get behind our team.
