No Statsbomb in the Bulgarian leagues sadly but was able to build the below crude radar. It's not perfect as it's using WyScout data using the bands given by Statsbomb on their AM/Winger radar but it's better than nothing!

7 goals (0.26 per 90) and 8 assists (0.3 per 90) in the league this season. High volume dribbler and crosser and takes set-pieces

Transfermarkt has a much higher number of assists. 13 in the league this season. Do you know why there would be such a big discrepancy.

Thanks for putting together. Looks pretty decent with the caveat that who know if he can step up.

I think Transfermarkt might include penalties won?

Cross referenced them, the red dots are the assists on WyScout so Transfermarkt reckons he got an assist on GW3 that WyScout didn't register, and on GW6 that WyScout didn't register. TM reckon he got 3 assists in the game in GW22 (despite only playing 24 mins) whereas WyScout say he got 1.

Then went and watched the videos:

GW3 Rusev took a shot, that bounced off the post and fell to his teammate that scored
GW6: Goal was a penalty so assuming Rusev was the player fouled
GW22: Rusev took a shot, that bounced off the post and fell to his teammate that scored, 2nd assist not registered was a penalty so again presuming Rusev was the player fouled.
GW25: Rusev took a shot - keeper saved it and the rebound fell to his teammate who scored

So basically comes down to the differing opinion between providers on what counts as an assist. Personally I wouldn't count a shot that was saved/off the post as an assist, winning a penalty though I'm a bit more inclined to count, but that's my opinion!

Thanks for the analysis. How’d he look when you watched him?

Ah good point - not Giaretta’s club though still would assume that connection with the Bulgarian league leaves us better placed than most.

Didn't watch much tbf (only his goals + assists and the shots that weren't assists above), but looked to have good pace, good variety of finishes. Assists were a mixed bag, some lucky ones that bump up his numbers and a few from set-pieces as well.

Oh yes. Rusev’s is the phoenix club (1948 CSKA) founded by supporters in 2016 who objected to the owner of Litex Lovech transferring all the assets of the club to the original CSKA to save it from financial oblivion. The club has risen from amateur leagues to the top division but still plays in a tiny stadium.

Well least he had a shot and it was on target - that would be an improvement on most of our current mob!

Although TBF Louzs did his best hitting the post twice in games and scoring once from outside the area.

Another bit of decent news if we can get him.
