There will be zero sympathy from other team's fans. If it wasn't for the penalties achieved through simulation and the pressure applied to referees throughout the season, AFCB would probably be in the PO scrap rather than challenging for autos.

15 penalties in a season is bizarre - it's not so long ago the WFC went for more than 3 seasons without a single penalty being awarded at the Vic (and precious few away).

TBF You can't blame him for being really really bitter & twisted. The look on his face is no different to the look on all L**** fan's faces right now.

I know, I know Nnnn and V Crabro. No-one has been more consistent than me on here in drawing attention to B'Muff's bizarre pen stats. I was simply saying that they should have had one yesterday but, as Nnnn suggests, if you cry wolf often enough then eventually there will be a downside. For B'Muff and Wilson, that moment arrived yesterday.

My view is that muff attack at pace, look to get in the box and look to draw fouls, almost as a priority over shooting. Most of the time they do this within the rules. They have paid the price for living the wrong side of fair.

I noticed they said refs shouldn't even be thinking about previous penalties incidents when giving a decision..

Well maybe but the pundits are always going on about when well known foreigners dive and even somebody like Ashley Young suggesting they have the reputation...

On a side note it does show Sheffield Wednesday won't give in in easily so need to be wary on the final day.

It might be a tougher game than the Brighton one...

Not to be underestimated. No Lewis for Wednesday yesterday?

My trick on BBC Player is to open up one hour after it gets going. That way I skip the bs between games for most of it and what's left doesn't take long.

Just watched the Muff highlights...I think Muff were quite lucky...and I like Paul Tierney as a ref...

Yeah they largely ignored the two open goals Wednesday missed before the commentator proudly declared Bournemouth deserved their equaliser. Wilson's was a penalty although to me the commentator and then Leroy were harsh on their defender. He basically got tripped by Kirkland and his momentum took him into Wilson. He cleaned him out and it was a penalty yes but not exactly poor defending by him.

  10. Steve Claridge very rarely talks much sense, but one thing he did say on Wednesday night was reasonable; namely that teams that might be on holiday will put in a shift against top teams precisely because its fun to be a party pooper. Brighton & Wednesday will both be bang up for the games. We need to be professional, tight at the back and patient.

I start watching them 30 mins after MOTD has started. I have seen the highlights, I have seen about 40 different camera angles for each incident so I can make my own mind up on whether somebody dived or whatever so I dont need Neville, Savge or Claridge spouting their usual crap in my ear.

  13. Wilson is miles offside before the 'penalty' is not given. Don't suppose there would have been the same level of outrage had that incorrect decision led to a goal and a sending off!
