Yes sir. The game didn't end on my end. So I just saved it and left tried to get back in touch with you after i reset my internet. that never happens.

 

Despite selling £143m worth of players in just one season, I somehow managed to end up 6th and in a Europa League spot :jumping1: Getting a bit bored now though, my philosophy means i'll never be likely to win the league. Tempted to apply for the Real Madrid job that'll be available when Ancelotti retires at the end of the season...

After almost a week (!) of deliberations, i've come to my decision. Whilst taking the Madrid job would obviously lead to a better chance of winning trophies, I believe that if I alter my philosophy slightly, then there's no reason why I can't do the same with Watford. We've a new stadium on the way, some absolute quality coming through in terms of youth products/transfers. All it requires is the right investment in some particular areas and i'll be set. Aiming for Champions League by the end of the 26/27 season (entering 24/25 now) with Watford winning the Premier League by the end of 29/30.

My Bournemouth team are the biggest brand in world football in 2038. 4 premier league titles on the spin and 3 champ leagues. Getting a bit bored though so just sold 5 of my starters to level the playing field. Got 400 million in the bank now!

Started at Mansfield, managed a fifth placed finished in my first season thanks to signing a couple of youngsters from the Prem and re-signing Matt Green from Brum. Lost in the playoff semis but managed a 6th placed finished the following year and squeaked into League 1. Had an amazing start, Green banging in goals and my youngsters Harry Charsley and Charlie Colkett from Everton and Chelsea respectively were on fire in the midfield. We were 2nd in October 2016 when Sheffield United came calling. They were 18th in League 1 and stinking the place out but I had them in 3rd by the start of the final day. We needed Preston to lose and a 4 goal swing with us winning too. We won 5-1 at home to Fleetwood, they lost 2-0 away at champions Fulham. One of the most exciting matchdays I've had on FM!

The summer went beautifully with some terrific signings, most notably Sebastian Haller from Auxerre and Shaun Murray from Watford. The season started well but I started to run out of ideas as to how to get the best out of a talented but flaky side. By March 2018 we were on a shocking run and I got the bullet. It was really disappointing and could have done a lot with the side with just one more summer.

No jobs came up that summer that I really fancied, turning down Millwall and Bristol City. I holidayed to christmas, still no jobs. The same happened in 2019 with ZERO tasty jobs coming up. Summer 2020 and Leicester had just been relegated to League 1. I kept an eye on it throughout May and eventually Dean Smith got the sack. I pounced and they gave me the job, immediately setting about clearing out their overpaid squad and bringing in regens and promoting YTS lads. I raised just over £20 mil in player sales, most notably Gedion Zelalem to Hudds for £7 mil.

My best signing so far has been 20 year old Steve Dunkley from Dagenham, 25 in 42 the previous season in the Conference convinced me to splash £500k on him. All of his physical stats are 15+, all of his technical stats are below 10! Despite this he's made the step up and scored 12 in 19. We're 2nd in Jan 2021, with a squad full of youth I've picked up from the lower leagues and released by Prem teams.

Best game I've had on FM15 by far.

 

anyone else had issues with the latest update? my game wont go past the loading screen. have left it loading for hours. literally hours.

 

I've had three ridiculous final days of the season in this game now. Us and Crewe ran away with it in League 1, on the final day they were top on 91 points, we were 2nd on 90, both promoted a few weeks before. We were thrashing Tranmere so I was hoping Crew would fail to win, handing us the title. I watched the whole game with the latest score popup instead of the player stats, and Crewe were winning 2-1 as our game finished. But wait! The final score screen comes up after a short buffer and Bury had equalised against Crewe in the 94th minute. Champions!

We were awesome in the Championship the following season. My young team were really clicking and needed Everton to lose to leapfrog them into 2nd on the final day. They lost, we won, successive promotions. Boom.

2022 now, my first piece of business this summer has been to snap up Bastian Schweinsteiger on a free from Bayern. 37 years old, I'm hoping he can emulate Esteban Cambiasso's heroics for Leicester in the real world. Toying with the idea of playing him ever so slightly in front of my back two and switching to wingbacks, making a loose back three.

Would feel wrong carrying on with my Watford game after losing a season and a half. Decided to start a game as manager of Porto, aim: Win everything without mercy over and over.

 

Guess what? Kept us up on the final day! The Schweinsteiger went terribly, he was utter pants.

I used to play Football Manager from the second I got home from school until the second I went to bed, and often for some hours after that. I used to have notepads which I'd take to school and think of new tactics to use with my teams. I had dreams about some of my regen players and still remember the names of many of them now.

I posted every single day on the Football Manager forums and at one point had an average of over 20 posts per day. I actually had a dream about becoming a moderator on their forum. My only friends were a few people I spoke regularly to on those forums. I ran the www.footballmanagerwiki.co.uk website (no longer running) and put days upon days into that. One New Years Eve, probably at the peak in around 2009, I stayed at home and had an argument with my parents because I took my laptop outside at midnight to watch fireworks. On the day I moved out of my childhood home in 2007, instead of going to play football with the people I once played with almost every day, I sat inside playing Football Manager by myself.

Put frankly, I had absolutely no life outside of Football Manager. The first game I bought was FM07 (when I would have been in year 8, so about 13) depending on when I bought it) and I played it regularly until FM11 (probably just about turned 17).

I had quite a lot going on around the time I started playing Football Manager and it basically acted as an escape. I was a completely different person in the 'Football Manager World'. To this day, I still wonder where I'd be if I hadn't spent four years of my life living in that world. It may surprise quite a few people when I say I think I'd be in a much worse place.

I know the article is written in jest, making light of the issue of video game addiction, but it does raise an issue that many people brush aside as something that can be more serious. The 'patient' in the article didn't let it affect his 'real life', but many, including me, have done. Who knows what the effects of that can be...

 

Just bought FM15 on steam. Of course started a career with Watford. Not signed anybody at all, didn't think it was needed. So far proving right after winning 3 and drawing 1 out of the first 4 games.

I never really do well in FM so will be interesting to see how I do this time.

 

Just finished uni for the summer; so if anyone is up for a network game, hit me up. I struggle to play as any other team than watford(too loyal) but at a push will play as brum or villa.

Don't mind any gimmick games either, quite like the idea of a free agent database game

Does anyone have a relatively early watford fc tycoon take over save? Preferably when they have just been taken over. Let me know
