When you say our "defence", I presume you mean the 9 man wall we've been using most of the season?

 

No I mean our actual defenders. Britos, Cathcart, Prodl, Nyom...all of them would have him in their pocket with ease. And if Ake is still here he obviously would too.

 

A complete mismatch? Maybe if the opposition are launching balls towards Forestieri's head, then sure. Other than that, I don't agree at all.

Under the right circumstances, yes.

Cathcart, Britos and co have played well this season. But they've also been flattered by the uber defensive tactics that QSF had in the place. Incidentally, in games against Villa and Sunderland where we did try to show some more attacking intent, they were all over the place.

It baffles me that people say that forestieri would be good enough for us but would welcome vydra back. Forestieri has proven his worth this season with 15 league goals + a number of assists. Vydra had scored 2 league goals and can't get in a poor reading team

In the summer I said time and again that I wasn't that fussed about Vydra leaving - he didn't look the same player as the one we had before he went to West Brom and appeared to have lost even more sharpness and desire once he returned from the injury he'd had half-way through the season. I was more gutted about Nando leaving, and this was further compounded when I saw Jurado.

 

Please don't take the name of our finest ever player in vain.

Being Sussex based I was pleased to see Brighton mess the play offs up,suffer a bit more and unlikely to be able to repeat their good run next season. Pleased for FF ,makes up for the goal that was and wasn't given at the Amex he got.Hope he and Pudil play well in the Final.

 

If only Vydra had shown in the past that he is able to consistently be a brilliant player at that level under the right circumstances and playing for a team that doesn't completely go against his style of play.

Sheff Wed didn't buy Fessi until the end of August, are you saying you'd already made up your mind about poor Jurado then, who was actually quite impressive at the start of the season? I don't understand these comparisons anyway, for all their strengths and weaknesses they're completely different types of players.

But he isn't consistently brilliant at that level. He had a good first season at us and has forever been living of that. Our fans have an over inflated opinion in regards to Vydra. Hes 24 now has has gone backwards rather than forwards.


He's nowhere near Ighalo or Deeneys level, i think we should get rid.

 

He was also very good in his second season with us where he scored 16 goals despite not being third choice for the majority of the season due to Ighalo's insane run of form. He also scored the goal that secured our promotion.

You talk about him being 24 like it's a bad thing. He's already shown he can be unplayably good and he is still nowhere near his peak yet.
