BBC Gossip linking interest in him from Villa and Newcastle, it's a shame that these young prospects are lured to Man City by massive wages and essentially left to slip into the background. Let's face it, big money moves for Sinclair, Rodwell and Delph have hardly furthered their careers (all on the fringes of international football at their peak) and although the mega wages they have earned sit nicely in the bank, they become unrealistic options for most unless they take a significant paycut. I would take Delph here, but would Delph take a paycut?
If he wants to be playing on a regular basis anywhere he will have to take a pay cut, unless he moves to China obviously.
Not sure why people say no straight away, he was a good player whilst at Villa and only cost them £8 million, that kind of fee with today's money is basically under a million in old terms. A loan would be good all round, chance for him to get regular football and impress us or other potential suitors, and a good home-grown player for us.
