On his way in January, supposedly.

    http://www.insidefutbol.com/2014/12/10/diego-fabbrini-set-for-watford-exit-in-january/175905/

It's a shame, as I think he could give us something different against teams that park the bus. Potentially could win us free kicks high up the pitch, apparently we are pretty good at those!

Alas, he is less consistent than Fessi with half the work rate, and is pushed off the ball like a leaf in a hurricane.

I'm sure many won't shed a tear if he does go, but anybody who saw him against Reading at the beginning of last season will really think, what a shame.

A shame he never made it like he should of. Italian international, where did it go wrong? I would love to see him make it good somewhere but I won't hold my breath.

Probably the most skilful player ever to play for the orns

It's a shame if he does go but assume we will get a fee for him?

At least he can come on at Readibg before he leaves and turn the game again, as he did last time we played them at the Madejski

Unplayable on his day. Unfortunately you can count those days on one hand.

No offence but I hope you are a young teenager. Rod Thomas was the most skillful I saw, Barnes, Cally, onto the likes of Wooter, Dyer (no, not the one you are thinking off!), then Fessi etc. Lots, lots, lots more!

He is not our player really. He will go back to Udinese and then move on. Have we ever got a fee for an Udinese player?

Skill comes in many forms, so I wouldn't say the most skilful ever. But I know where you're coming from - Fabbrini for all his shortcomings has that shimmy you generally only see from world class players.

This country needs more players like him. Where skill and flair is - shock horror - given precedent over the same old "SAFETY FIRST!" form of coaching that this country is enamoured with. Where the player might be made of glass, but that's ok, because he can actually run with the ball at his feet without having a panic attack. It makes the game more interesting in my opinion.

Oh well, we'll always have the Reading game where he came on and tore them apart. Which was basically his Rinaldi-Gillingham-in-the-cup performance.

No offence taken, but I am old enough to have seen Barnes make his debut and all the others you mention. I was at the Vic to see Tony Currie, Dennis Bond and Stewart Scullion as well. In my view Fabbrini has more skill than any of those mentioned - Rod Thomas runs him close. I am not saying that he was the best/most effective footballer

Ashame, recon he could've done a good job at wing back.

Ever since Deeney debagged him on the training pitch, he lost his confidence

He was good at falling over I'd give you that.

Fabbrini is/was so lightweight it didn't take much to knock him down..

    Sh*t.

Decision making is worse than Fessi's.

Probably an unpopular opinion but I thought he was a wonderful player to watch. I always looked forward to seeing him when he was starting. I haven't seen a player drift past opponents quite like him for a while. Doesn't seem like a cocky or over-confident lad but still tries a flip-flap once a game. However, his decision making is slow and he gets muscled off the ball too easily. Just not suited to English football, I reckon.

Frustrating player to watch, your clearly deluded if you cant see he had a bit of something about him.
Has not been given a chance enough, what was wrong sticking him on the bench against Fulham and bringing him on when 3-0 up.

If he's only ever going to be a 'luxury' player then there's no point having him. He is talented but as already mentioned by WatfordTalk maybe he's not suited to English football.

I think he (and Forestieri for what it's worth) suffer massively from being positions that don't really lend themselves well to English football, nor are they used in English football.

I absolutely loved watching him when going at defenders at full tilt - he could bamboozle them with consummate ease, it'll be a shame if he leaves such a talent.

But what happened after the bamboozling? He gave the ball away or fell over.

And did you love watching opponents running at, and then past, him at full tilt?

If he does go then no hard feelings; not suited to English football, but probalby would excel in Spanish.

I liked Fabbrini because of that weird step over thing he did that I still can't work out.

Also, I loved how much he sent certain sections of our supporters utterly crazy.

He's clearly a very skillful player, but skillful and effective aren't the same thing.

Any coach that can turn Fabbrini into an effective option will have a very talented player on his/her hands.

I've always noticed that the contrasting opinions on Fabbrini seem to be divided by those who were at Reading last season and those who weren't.

I was there and have seen several brief flashes of his frightening talent since and will always wish that we could have found a role for him in the team.

He is one of those players who makes things happen and is unpredictable. Ask any defender what they hate most when defending. They'll tell you it's a skilful, unpredictable player dribbling at you on all day.

Yes he needs to work on his end product and consistency, but of those central clearly jokacking midfielders/forwards, he offers something different to the rest and often draws a second defender too trying to neutralise his threat, leaving a man free. Personally feel he is great bench player but clsarly jokanovic doesn't rate him.

It would appear we have a bit of a marmite situation with Fabbrini - love him or hate him. He definitely can frustrate you as a spectator, and there is no doubt he has done that on more than pone occasion, but the lad has such a talent it seems a shame that that can't be harnessed by a manager/coach and put to good use.

To me he seems like a player who would excel in the premier league - but hey, I know a lot of others on here, can't wait to see the back of him. Wherever he plays his football I really hope that he finds a place where he can blossom and show the naysayers what they missed out on - if it is not at Watford.

I have always been one who appreciates players like Fabbrini more than players like Eustace. When I played I was never a run round like a lunatic, throwing myself in to tackles kind of player and I think that is I prefer Fabbrini type players. I think SM16 is right when he says there just isn't a position in English football for him but it's a big shame. Saw him against Coventry pre season and he tore them apart second half but now we're back at 3-5-2 his chances are very limited. Good luck to him if he goes
