Yeah, as the others have said, it's for monitoring the air flow around the car. Presumably because of the unique 'sidepods' they're focussing particurly closely on the air flow between the front wheels and the pods, I'm kind of hoping the testing proves it to be ineffective as it looks bloody ugly!

 

I see it's that time of the year again where each team accuses the other of being faster

Not sure why, but I find Drive to Survive very intriguing but also infuriating at the same time.

 

So by changing the work "should" to "must" regarding overtaking during a safety car shows it what a farce the end of the race was, (that manipulated the result). It's a shame because Verstappen's win will always be tainted because of it.

 

Michael Masi changed history. He engineered the result he wanted. For that, the sport is gone as far as I’m concerned. Verstappen never won the championship, he was given it.

I don’t see the point in ever watching F1 again. Just ask the next race director which team he supports, abort the season and award that team the crown.

 

I may change my mind but at the moment I have no interest in watching it after last season

 

I’ll probably still watch it. I watched wresting for years knowing that the outcome was biased/ pre-determined.

But I don’t see F1 as having the same amount of integrity anymore. Might be better to refer to it as sports entertainment instead of sport.

 

F1 had been boring for years due to one team or another dominating. The one season they have a genuinely exciting cliffhanger ending and they completely screw it up circus style. What an ending it was for LH to come back from the dead and win it in the final race by beating his rival. Will never watch again. It’s just a joke now in my eyes.

 

Absolutely buzzing for the start of it all again today.

It's glorious to see the Mercs struggle, long may it continue (although no doubt they'll be back up there in a few races time)

Ferrari looking quick and HAAS actually look like a midfield team again. Super Max still looking like the number 1 driver.

 

That Alfa Romeo is a gorgeous looking car.

 

Obviously FIA HQ got bored, sacrificed an Alpha and now we get an exciting ending. This is great entertainment.

Uh oh, what’s what? Max Verstappen with a ladder? AND he’s going to grab the race winner’s belt? Breathless stuff!!

 

I jumped around the house in absolute delight when the 2nd Red Bull went out. Bloody great race all round. Ferraris amazing

 

Brilliant race! Hope you lot saying you weren't going to watch it did in the end.

Ferrari P1/2. Magnusen P5. Well done to Hamilton getting a podium, was 30 secs off at one point.

Don't know what happened there?
I made a post about the new fuel pump and the updated E10 fuel causing the 3 late issues/retirements because of the fuel vapour overheating and possible damage to the pumps due to the corrosive nature of E10. That came out as "w"??

So even posts mentioning fuel pumps and E10 are being derailed. Nasty stuff.
