For me this is almost as good news as some of our new signings. In a time where there's so much (understatement) change I think it's fantastic that we've held on to/decided to keep hold of a true leader, someone who sets an excellent example for younger/new players and someone who knows the club inside out in Eustace. Also still a very capable player at this level. A truly astonishing transfer window and I can't wait to see how the season pans out now. On paper we look incredibly strong.
Need him as a figurehead to imbue the new arrivals with what it means to play for this club and it's values. I can see John staying on in some form of coaching capacity as well when he retires.
