You would think that it is MCs year and the only thing that could stop them is themselves.
Maybe Pep will overthink and play Grealish at sweeper or something !

Man City have been rubbish. So slow in the build up. Rodri picking the wrong option. Man City not stretching Inter at all out wide. Lots of backward passes. Playing with fear of losing based on that first half.

    Man City weren’t great .

Inter missed 2/3 very good chances.

But one moment of quality mattered.

Everyone hates them. Another bought trophy from the uber plastics. No doubt BT and all the assorted dolts will be eulogizing. Acres of printed matter will be written in praise of these charlatans.

The truth is it's all been bought with billions of petrodollars. Nothing momentous or historic regarding that. Horrible club, fans and coach. Soon to be joined by Saudi Arabia United.

A really awful night for football. Hopefully clubs like Manchester City **** off and start their own plastic super league soon. ******* vile cheating scum.

Less plastics than Liverpool or Man Utd. I like the fact that a historically poor team can get a sugar daddy and upset the boring apple cart of Liverpool, Man Utd, Bayern, Real and Barca. What is not to like?

I think that is the general feeling .

Ok off the pitch they might be very dodgy but it’s a new team and set of fans enjoying the success .

Guess that attitude might change if they win everything for the next few seasons .

There was an uber-jealous, uber-entitled petulant and downright embarrassing Man U fan on 5live after the match last night throwing his toys out his pram, calling City 'plastic'. It seems every club that has more money than the one we support is 'plastic' and any club with less money is 'tinpot'.

I used to admire the fact that when Man City were relegated to L1 there were still 30,000 plus at Maine Road, unlike Newcastle at SJP when Ardiles was their boss.

Their fans seemed to come from Manchester or Greater Manchester unlike Home Counties Reds.

However now they are taking over most of their fans sound at best smug at worst raving mad and giddy on their success.

Would we be if we were in their position?

I'd like to think some of us would be extremely uncomfortable with such a scenario but I suppose we'll never have to put it to the test.

In any case it's all my neighbour's fault.

She's an Inter ( and Spurs) fan but didn't wear her Klinsmann Inter top last night. Daft bat!

People enjoy sport for the fact that it can be an unwritten drama. That the end is not certain. There is a frisson that the unexpected may happen. With the advent of the PL and the petrodollar clubs all that has disappeared. The sole excitement appears to be in who escapes the trapdoor. And even that is fairly predictable.

There's nothing to celebrate in seeing a club dominate football purely through the financial muscle it exerts often through illegal means. They have continually breached the rules to get to where they are. In the past their fans may have been the genuine sort but now ? The number of tourists and plastics is incredible. The sort that attach themselves to a club purely because it's successful. Yet have never been to a game or know a smidgeon about the history of the club. As sarcastically posted on Twitter there's is almost a fifteen year history.

Not to mention what they are doing around the globe with their 'partnerships'. Hoovering up talent before anyone else has a chance. They are not the only ones to blame in this regard with the hoarding of players but they are the worst example of it. They are in large part why many are turning away from football. Not just here but around Europe. What's the point of the league when you know by and large who will win it ? One only has to look at the winners of cups and leagues in the various top leagues in Europe to see that it is now a very small select band. This band is never satisfied with what it has. It's greed continues to grow demanding ever more concessions for themselves.

You look at the domestic situation. Whereas in the past clubs had a natural fall and rise in tandem with a top class manager you don't see the likes of a Derby, Ipswich, West Ham etc,etc even us bursting in on the bigger clubs and stealing away titles and cups. At the very least Manchester United and Liverpool's success was laid by two great managers not financial doping. When we played the final in 1984 there was a parity on the pitch despite the difference in fan base and historical achievement. It was not a foregone conclusion. Wind the clock forward to May 2019. One of the players sat on their bench cost more than our entire squad. What's impressive about trebles and doubles now ? Nothing at all.

Absolutely agree with all this, but just to note it would be the same if City or anyone else were not doing anything illegal. That’s because the football authorities have allowed, or engineered depending on your view, this situation.

I have been very much of this view but, now that they are European Champions, the point has come for me that someone else needs to start beating them. Unfortunately it can now only be the usual suspects who can possibly achieve that.

But they have have the second highest revenue in world football, so where does all that money come from if not plastic fans buying match tickets or replica shirts…. Oh.

Yes - unfortunately that probably means they will have to be taken over by states and shady characters.

While that is true, I cannot see any team at present in the PL who are capable of matching them stride for stride all season. Arsenal almost did it last season but became bottle jobs and lost it at the most crucial time, and the way Citee destroyed them was another factor they are still not quite their yet. Newcastle do look good though, and as much as I hate Lego Head Howe, I have to comend him for how he has got them playing. Man Utd are getting better, but still miles away from a serious challenge, Chelsea are meh and Liverpool are too inconsistent now. I think it will be Citee to take the title for a good few seasons yet. Unless they are massivly hit as punishment for their FFP issues.

All a bit of "oh well we did expect to win - well done lads"

Or they hadn't been on the drink all day!

And the players looked more relived and drained if anything rather than ecstatic and emotional but I didn't see too much of the after match celebration.

No doubt someone did swear by accident and get a ticking off!

Uli Hoeneß on Leverkusen: "Xabi Alonso has players that suit him this season. But they were lucky with their transfers. No one else saw Victor Boniface. And no one knew who Álex Grimaldo was before. You have to be lucky when a player comes to a new country & new club for him to have such an impact."

Nobody has heard of a player who played 300 times for Benfica (Grimaldo)? Nobody else bothered to watch the top scorer in the Europa League last season (Boniface)?

Can't help but feel Hoeneß has a case of the sour grapes...

He's a prize prat. After thumping cradle Snatchers Munich I hope Leverkysen even if sponsored by Bayer at last snap the run of titles the Munich mafia have accumulated. And Jane misses out again as he reaches for his sinus medication.

Palacios although injured recently has shown what a superlative midfielder he is his trajectory hampered by injuries and yet another product of rhe endless River Plate academy.

Good to see fans protestng the DFB and 26 v 10 clubs acceptance of investment from those slimy venture capitalists in return for various commercial rights and no doubt attempts to turn it into another form of entertainment product.

It's grotesque the way these idiots people are getting their hands around the throats of the peoples game.

Super performance from Alan Varela against Woolwich last night. I cam see several clubs making a move for the former Boxa defensive linchpin. But he's more than just a defensive midfielder.

Should be knocking on the door of the Argentina CA 24 squad. Certainly should be ahead of Paredes.

West Ham channelled their inner Preston North End there tonight, sadly for them their result was about as useless as a team on the fringes of the play-offs getting a point away to a team who hasn't won at home for months!
