Government offers full support to the FA for world cup bid.

FA looking for support from fellow european countries.

    - Yes Please!

    - Which 8-10 Stadiums would you chose to host world cup football in England?

The stadiums are already earmarked as they have to meet a certain criteria.

The obvious will be Wembley, Emirates, Old Tafford, Newlands, St.James Parketc then the next level down will include places like ******* RD, Villa Park, Stadium of Light etc.

One of those words left over from the swearing day when everyone tried to beat the filter. I see no point in keeping it censored.

    Edit: bugger

As Jon says they're predetermined, and they'll try to keep a good regional balance. At a guess:

    Wembley
    Emirates
    Villa Park
    Old Trafford
    St James' Park
    St Marys
    Stadium of Light
Madjeski Stadium (will be 32,000 by 2009)
Millennium Stadium (I know it's in Wales but they're likely to get the odd group match)
    Elland Road
    New Anfield

what about the olimpic stadioum, they were going to rip out all the seats and make it 15,000 afterwards, will they now leave it?

No. And it'll be down to 25k, which is too low to host a major football tournament. The cut off is 30k.

As I said, it was just a guess. Hillsbrough will be big enough but will be ancient by 2018. And I can't see them allowing two venues in Manchester, especially if the New Anfield is chosen.

For me it ruins the experience of the World Cup. It's good going abroad, seeing new stadiums and places rather than staying in cold rainy England.

Can't bear the thought, another year of the EBC (BBC) ranting on about 1966.
