In the Telegraph. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/music/artists/elton-john-watford-forever-book-greatest-man-on-earth/ Sorry behind a pay wall isn’t it ?
Thanks for posting @wfc4ever it looks as though a book is coming out on the 16th exploring the story.
I really don't get the pay wall rubbish media sites do. I understand they might have "rights" or "first dibs" to any leaked news, but this is the internet. Stories will leak and come out no matter what. WO is equally as guilty for doing this. If it was printed in the newspaper it's free to read. But because nobody buys them much anymore, I guess they have to make the bucks somehow. Anyway, rant over. Looks interesting, thanks for the post.
I do find it very odd that there was no reference to Watford in Rocketman (the film) but then am I right in saying it wasn’t a biography (like the recent Beckham doc) and merely something done by a third party that he approved of?
The newspaper isn’t free… You’re right in what you say, we have to make money. Take away subscriptions and website ads and, quite frankly, no WO. One thing I would say: the WO hasn’t got a paywall as such. You should always be able to view some each month, then after that you need to subscribe. Things like live match blogs are always free to view.
Fair point, although perhaps I could of worded it better when I said it was "free". Of course you are correct you have to pay for the paper to read the article, but on buying it you are not then asked to pay again to read a particular article that has been blurred out. I totally understand the aspect of adverts on social media as where else is the revenue going to come from? Anyway, looking forward to your match write up Andrew. Should be a paragraph at most I would of thought. Hopeless today that performance.
