Elective Caesareans

    Caesarian Delivery at Mother's Request (CDMR) according to NICE guidelines is still not recommended until 39 weeks. Most Obstetricians will be sticking to that.

    We are talking about CDMR here (or Clive is) as opposed to Elective per se which just means planned, usually for a medical reason, as opposed to emergency surgery.
    ie: the way medicine uses the word elective is not what the general public would understand it to be.

    You have an Elective hip replacement (ie: it's planned and booked in advance) but Emergency surgery if say your appendix ruptures

    Yeah BUT your kid could end up with a peanut allergy, so it’s swings and roundabouts really.
