I maintain that we will stand a decent chance if we are still in touch in Jan and if Adey brings in 2/3 more players (offering them Prem football only till May won't be enough of an incentive to get the right bodies). I have grumbled in the past about the style of football, and I still don't like it, but to change at this stage would be suicide. What baffles me is why we play Henry (whippet) type balls through to Hendo (Carthorse) when he clearly doesn't have the pace to get them and they are either mopped up by a defender or go through to the goalie.
If we had king then yes, but we don't so I don't think we will. Why? Because our system is based around him for the direct balls. Without him it clearly doesn't work, we always end up losing the ball every time.
Yes, I do think we will go down, but not without a fight. It will be a 93rd minute penalty off Chris Powells head against Newcastle last day of the Season, no changed my mind , Ben Foster injured at halftime, Richard Lee replacement saves 93rd minute and Watford stay up. Richard given the freedom of the Town and is allowed by ancient Watford tradition to drive around the ring road the wrong way at rush hour screaming the "'orns are staying up." Jobr is in the passenger seat eating humble pie.
Magic We will need something magic for us to manage to stay up i think now. IT CAN STILL HAPPEN. Knowing our luck though it will be close and nail biting.
If we hadnt had all these poor decisions in most games this year we would be rght up the top, at the end of the season its going to cost us dearly
Sadly yes unless we manage to somehow get some results in the next few games and are able to spend some money to bring in quality.
Money, we've got. A club that will be able to attract talent, we ain't. At the moment anyway. We need to haul ourselves out of the relegation zone before Xmas.
nearly half that have voted so far think we will go down:-\ and most of the rest are unsure (january)!!!
Up until last nights performance I was 100% confident we would stay up, after watching the game last night I am not so sure, so I am one of the ones reserving judgement to see who we bring in in Jan. As if we don't make some decent signings I think we will go down.
HELL NO, based on last nights performance we don't deserve to be playing in the premiership..... back to the fizzy pop league!
we are not going to play like that every game this is the 1st truely bad game/performance and we all have to believe it's a one-off and we get to playing the way we did before
Thats true, very true indeed.... BUT the way we we're playing before only got us 9 points..... it's all well going "we lost 2-1 to utd" "we didn't get outplayed at pompey" etc.. the matter of fact is that we can't finish and we're not picking up enough points!!!!!!!!!!!!
Depends on how much money Aidy is given in the January Transfer windwo and who he buys with it . If after the first 4 games we are still the same then YES. But until then i believe we will stay up and if anyone other than a WATFORD supporter asks me I WILL say YES until is mathematically unimpossible for us to saty up . It says WFC in the middle ;D
If we get the fire power... In January, and I think we need two strikers, then we will stay up! If we don't, then we are DOOMED!
...staying up? ...If it is true that refereeing decisions balance up and even them selves out over the course of a season AND we manage a couple of good signings in the January sales...............DEFINATELY!!
Ignoring Tuesday night (got to haven't we) if our rotten, stinking, putrid, terrible, awful, atrocious, wretched, foul, cursed luck changes just the tiniest tiniest tiniest bit we'll stay up. But the premiership gods seem to have taken against us.
I still beleive that watford will stay up even after tuesdays performance, though I do beleive it will be a close run thing.
We all knew that our squad is very thin, and that keeping free of injuries was vital to survival. The key will be whether we can afford to sign the right players in January, and whether Aidy can both select and persuade suitable candidates to join us. Although it will be very tricky to attract Prem players - the solution could be a combination of loan types eg Alan Smith and promising lower league players who can step up in class. Who would be a football manager?
