Rumours on twitter say gianfranco Zola is lining up a move for qpr striker dj Campbell.

    Not sure about this one.

"Gianfranco Zola is trying to bolster Watford's attack with a move for QPR's DJ Campbell.

Striker Campbell, 30, made just two Premier League starts for Rangers last season.

He struggled with injuries following a move from Blackpool.

The forward is now surplus to requirements at Loftus Road.

But he is keen to stay in London and is willing to join the Championship Hornets under new boss Zola following the club's Italian takeover."

No thank you. I'd rather give Garner a go.

He was superb for blackpool in the championship and decent in the premiership. Yes please. Tommy is the more likely striker to join from qpr though

Put him towards the middle of the list for possible signings.

We need a striker who can mix things up

He could really flourish in Zola's system of keeping the ball on the decks

If he can stay fit he would be a cracking signing.

Didn't we try to sign him years ago? Under Aidy I think?

Like Fitz Hall, a decent player with plenty of Championship (and some premiership) experience - for me I wouldn't be overwhelmed but as I say he knows the league, knows how to be part of a promoted team and that could be crucial

Seems like we are now taking QPR players - used to be other way round!!

As Dazza said, he lives in Watford. My uncle is a postman who lives about a 10 minute walk from the ground and delivers to DJ on his round.

Yup, it all got agreed and he was at a friendly in club clobber but then someone came in at the very last minute and offered him more money - Leicester I think it was.

    What year was that?

I'm pretty sure it was the pre season of the year we went up under Aidy, but it may have been the pre season of the year we lost in the play off's to Hull.

It was the 2007 summer. Boothroyd announced we were set to make an exciting signing but then he joined leicester and scored against us in the third game of the season!

Apparently they're normally on the ball with qpr signings so quite likely. Not sure if I'm sold though

Hmmmm, if this was all happening a couple of years ago I'd have been more than happy with signing DJ Campbell, it's the fact that he's coming up for 31 that puts me off. Pace is a big part of his game and that's going to start to decline now.

Not sure I agree Nath, hes always been 'quick' in and around the box but hes never been a sprinter

Yeah I agree he's not lightning and solely reliant on that but he's always been one of those 'nippy' forwards, and I just wonder how well he'll adapt once that starts to go. He'd have been a great season long loan signing but I think we're going to have enough loans already, so I just hope if we do sign him permanently we don't do something stupid like give him a big, 3 year contract

Agreed, 1 year with an option would be ideal but not realistic, i imagine it would be 2 years with an option of 1 if it happens

The fact he is 30 doesnt count for much as he came into the pro game late. Players like Ian wright and kev Phillips played until their late thirties. I think he'd be an excellent signing.

Do you reckon they are offering a buy two get third free deal so we can have Heidar back as well?

Why exactly? Can't be the goalscoring records at this level because DJ wins every time so seeing as they're strikers why would Garner be the better choice?

    Completely different players, moron.

As mentioned he's been there and done it at this level and that's exactly the sort of signing we should be making. Keep him fit and it's potentially a good signing.
