Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting this morning that Diamanti is in Atalanta ahead of a move back to Italy. https://twitter.com/DiMarzio/status/686857320366764032
Well, this one worked out well didn't it? I mean, if this was a Nani signing, we'd all be laughing. I guess he didn't end up 'the best signing of the summer' after all.
If this happens , would imply we have a striker lined up already . Can't see Oulare being first replacement if injury happens .
Nothing against the fella, but it didn't work out here for him, he hardly played, and in 6 months time we will be saying Who?
Set to sign today. http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/watford-all-set-to-close-transfer-deal-today
Would like to have seen him given a chance as an impact sub but we really don't play to his strengths so in truth it would never have worked. Wish him all the best :sign16:
If he were still the player he once was we would have seen a lot more of him. In fact he's probably have nailed down a starting place. Unfortunately though, he's not. It's a shame but that's football. I too wish him all the best
yea, I think we put Bulky Limbs in the free non-HG slot because nobody wanted him (bless 'im). Shame to waste a slot.
Diamanti has gone, done and dusted I wish him well, but I won't miss him :sign16: I'm sure he was a good player in his day, but his day had long past before he came here I'm afraid.
From the wobby... "Alessandro Diamanti has described his six-month loan spell at Watford as a nightmare" Yea thanks mate, but who's fault was it you weren't good enough? http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/watfordfc/watfordfcnews/14204751.Diamanti_describes_Watford_loan_as_a_nightmare/
Surely we must be in advanced negotiations with another striker, if they are letting Diamanti go. With Ibarbo leaving as well we only have Oulare as back up. Gulp.
I sympathise with him a bit here.. QSF's loyalty has proved very very stubborn, watching Jurado from the bench must be disheartening. Plus, we signed Diamanti after scouting him, it's our fault if he's judged to not be good enough after one half of football.
Agreed. Best in training every week, but couldnt play as our whole style is based around 2 big strikers up top. We cant say hes not good enough when we didnt see him play.
Yes and he said he was one of the best, if not the best in training. The reason he didnt play is not to do with his ability or age but to do with our formation.
You would have to have a very hard heart not to sympathise with him. He hardly had any meaningful opportunities. Good luck to him.
I think he said he was one of the best trainers, not one of the best ability-wise. Can't fault the guy for effort & attitude clearly. It might be a formation thing but I doubt it. He's an attacking midfielder, we could have used him if he were good enough. In he day he certainly would have been.
It is hard to see how he wasn't used sparingly just to give the others a break. (eg rest Jurado/Abdi here and there).
I believe the comments made about his excellence in training were pertaining in to both his ability and his attitude.
