The only truble with this place so far is that the main boards closed too d4mn early!! Because it was literally a case of jump ship and find a new home, a lot of the mentality that was around the MB stuck with the crowd, (1 example being everyone crammed into General Football). Once the honeymoon period was over the old habits have slowly been returning. The team that is now set up here know that in time this will change, but you can't turn things around overnight. In time, with good moderation, an evolving board and staff, and new users constantly appearing we'll have a very good and very strong community here, be sure of that. In the meantime we won't rush anything, just a little prod here and there, and let the place mature slowly. Ask the same question next Christmas

To be honest only over the Christmas period only 1 thread was removed because it linked to a football violence video. Otherwise nothing closed, nobody banned or asbo'd, just a few pointers by 4th official, couple of reported posts and that's about it. Bit boring actually
theres no discussion- this board is 10x better than what the official one was. Your always going to get some idiots messing things up, but admin/moderators will quickly wipe that out hear.
Oh yes they are! Judicious use of the 'Ignore List' feature means you don't have to read anything from people who only post shyte. It's very useful.
Very true, the ignore list is a dangerous tool though. Just think one day they may post something of relevance, unlikely but you never know. The good thing here is that the mods and admin do jump and act on the carp unlike the fiscal board where an awful lot was let go that in the end created a monster and division.
(Don't tell anyone but if you visit without logging in you can see it all. All that does is convince me that certain people NEVER have anything to contribute.)
All email facilities at work are 'banned' so the PM is a God send. If I add people to my ignore list does that mean they can't PM me or that I cant see their posts? Will they know their on my ignore list?
If you put someone on your ignore list you won't be able to see there posts or receive PM's from them. if you didn't sign in as afanof mentions you can see all posts, like a guest can.
True! I just added BDA to my ignore list and I couldn't send him a PM. Although why you would want to PM someone you want to ignore is too complicated for me to understand!
