Hero Luther has come out to slap down the monstrous ego and his attempt to reframe and obfuscate his way out of it:

That is how I expect a club legend to act

Going to be hard to fit, "he drives a lambo and he never bottoms out on the humps because he demanded their removal" into the new version mind you.

    Deeney's not a legend, anymore
He can't fit in his Lambo or four by four,
When Leicester tried to take him away,
He said eff off, theres a speed bump in the way.

Deeney's a legend in his head, remove the speedbump or you will be dead
He'll snap you in two, then injure a few
Calls Dychey a ginger, and Ivic a whinger
The Queen is now Scottish, his Lambo's quite hottish
He's bigger than Watford FC, and applauds Scott for taking the knee
When Leicester come calling, you can here his words bawling....I'm Troy, I'm Troy, no one's tougher than me.

People have lost all perspective on this. Troy said some unwise things and exaggerated during a low profile podcast, whilst having a few drinks. He is not admitting that they were unwise. Some Watford fans and a journalist are angry/upset/put out that Troy said these things and will not retract or grovel. His contribution to the success of Watford over the last decade or so was immense. That cannot be taken away from him. Watford's stance after he served his time was commendable (and, ultimately, beneficial to the club). I mentioned earlier in this thread the comments in the podcast that I was concerned with (and I believe, in hindsight, Troy would regret). This all stems from Troy not being media savvy and not having PR minders to advise him. I will be grateful to Troy for what he has done for the club and I am happy to dismiss his recent comments for what they were and focus on his worthy legacy with Watford and his current attempt to broaden the educational curriculum.

He‘s a narscissist I reckon . It could benefit us if we could try to desist from feeding his disorder

A journalist simply him quoted word for word. How can anyone can side with Deeney over French in this episode is completely beyond me.

While I mostly agree with this, having drinks on a podcast then spouting nonsense afterwards is also not a good look for any younger fan(s) who look up to him and use him as a benchmark for how to behave, especially if they have aspirations that mirror his own. I get he likes being the 'spotlight' and 'tough guy' and it does fit his persona well and he obviously loves it and thrives off it. But he does need to take care on what he does and says, especially now he is going to be a lot more media focused when hundreds of cameras are going to be on him at all times. Social media has exploded (rightly or wrongly) and is heavily critical of even the slightest mis-step a person takes. It won't take long for one serious bad word said from Troy for it to circulate and end what he surely wants as a media career path. I also agree, he needs a hard working PR team.

According to one of the interviewers, anyone disappointed with Troy has a race issue!

The thread is quite amusing - especially the back and forth with a twitter person pretending to be Gino Pozzo :)

Instead of just quoting Deeney's bonkers comments, I think French should have approached Troy to see if he regretted his remarks. I'm sure he does and the story could then have been 'Watford legend's shame over drunken YouTube rant'. Sprinkle some 'everyone knows Watford means everything to me' quotes from the dim Brummy and all would have been forgiven

Oh, of course the race card has been pulled. Of course if you dare criticise a person of colour it has to be racially motivated. That's the only explanation. Snore.

On the subject of the interview, it also makes me laugh (/cringe half to death) how he goes on like he's the world's hardest man.

You're a footballer and a fairly average sized man who's done a bit of pad work mate. Have a day off.

And yet still the usual Simps on twitter try to defend Deeney and condemn French. These oiks think they're watford fans. They're not. They're a ******* disgrace.

Troy had the chance to reply accordingly on twitter. Instead took the 'I'm a big boy' stance

Of course. Some non-white person getting called out, is always the victim of racial abuse. That’s how it works these days.

It doesn’t even make sense. Over the counter means bespoke off venue.

    Should be exchange traded whites?

Not the ‘same race’; a similar skin colour (although Luther has darker skin). An important distinction.
