TBF some of the no 2 goalkeepers in the PL probably aren't much cop anyway. The Man City one comes to mind.

 

After Foster started to do some stupid things on a regular basis, Bachmann brought a measure of calm to the back line when he came in, but I'm struggling to think of many saves that he's made that have been anything more than regulation

 

It’s not just the coming off his line that is the issue, he clearly gets rattled by mistakes and completely wilts mentally once he makes one. His best a atribute is holding on to shots but beyond that he’s just not very good.

Okoye is a international criminal mastermind in his spare time. He has a lair in a volcano and henchmen and everything. Still a dud.

 

Man Utd already have far superior backups in Henderson and Heaton.

 

Understandably they are looking for someone better and more reliable than Henderson. That's why they are looking at Bachmann

Rumour of a £4m fee which is pretty good. Baffling that we’ll get over twice what we seem to be getting for Zinckernagel.

 

Have you seen Zinckernagel in goal? Bloody useless.

 

Dominates his area more effectively and is better at coming for crosses though. Rarely seen trying to keep an attempt out, by standing behind his own goal line.

So if Okoye isn't at least as good then it will be bizarre.

 

From what I’ve seen Okoye is the superior goalkeeper and has a much higher ceiling.

The fact the club didn't trust him enough to drop Foster, with all his stuff going on, probably tells us everything we need to know

 

To be fair, the club maybe should have stepped in - but Hodgson was ALWAYS going to pick (and stick with) Foster given their history.

Man Utd apparently reluctant to pay the small fee we’re asking for. Which is reportedly £2-4m. It’s Man Utd! They probably make £2-4mil every hour.

So we’re haggling for a small fee that United are unwilling to pay. Perhaps we could take a lower fee and a United player on loan/perm/loan with option instead? Laird, Dishon Bernard/Teden Mengi (CB), Hannibal Mejbri (CM) and Tahith Chong (winger - could maybe be deployed as CAM) would all be decent.
