Expensive posh food, no real queue for the bar. A celloist, free programme, decent view, no shirts, mingle with some mancunians, feel better and bigger than your fellow fans who dont have beer that pours through the bottom of the cup, be glad you didnt spend 2.5k a season on it.
Thats ********. I have attended 2 games in 5 years and I was excluded. Like you say, one rule for one etc.
I was unsuccessful with the ballot also. As for Hanson he maybe had someone get him the ticket for Fulham home. Or maybe it’s a PR thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My American friend who applied to be in the ballot as he was considering coming over the pond for the Final, has also been unsuccessful and will not be included in the overseas ballot, no reason given
The overseas thing seems like a bit of shambles. If they were going to set aside tickets for overseas fans, I really think they needed to reward people like norn who have made a regular effort to attend, despite being overseas. Rather than a ballot, I don't think it would have taken much to rank those who applied according to games attended in the last few years, and give the tickets to the top 50.
I live in America. I was told because I’m category D I have a shot at a ticket via the usual route so I couldn’t be included in the ballot. . I can try to get one starting May 1st. So that’s 2 weeks to sort travel and pay though the nose for plane tickets too. It does feel a bit unfair to not be included in the ballot because I actually made an effort to be at a couple of games over the past 4 years.
Full stop. People speaking in riddles & ciphers. Hanson Trust was a pre eminent 80s conglomerate which is now, such is the feral interplay of the market, a subsidiary of Heidelberg Cement. If they hire ho’s, they should be discreet.
I don't know who figures out the clubs ticketing criteria, but judging by the amount of anomalies and what appear to unfair practices that keep cropping up on here, I think that person or person's need sacking, and the system needs some serious rethinking and revising.
The overseas ballot sounds like a farce but at least the club done something. They never had to. I got lucky and received a ballot through my son, just cos I’ve always put our tickets on my ID. Even though I never won I’m grateful of the opportunity. My mate here was not so lucky as he’s used his fan ID and his sons so never even saw the ballot. He’s made more of an effort to get back than I and slightly pips me in the scramble for what’s left. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Not everybody is happy but they never will be but I think it’s been done reasonably fairly. They’ve made sure that the fans who attend the most games get a ticket. After that it may seem a little unfair but you can’t break it down in to too many groups as it will get silly. I feel very sorry for those desperate for a ticket that won’t get one but it’s no where near as bad as you make out and sacking somebody is as ridiculous as playing Kabasele up front
People complaining that they didn't qualify for the overseas ballot because they'd been to too many games? There were 50 pairs of tickets available compared to over 7,000 for those outside of the top two categories. Your odds are better just to purchase when you're eligible. Yes, there's going to be the odd anomaly, but I think they've got it pretty spot on with the categories.
My mistake, this is how Hanson got a ticket so I was wrong to say he was eligible when he perhaps shouldn't have been. Not sure about the rest of the 'winners' though and I'd say it wouldn't have been too difficult to slip through the net but sure. We'll see how next Friday goes!
I guess it's good PR for the club... "we have supporters around the world and we will go that bit further to help them out..." I recall our friend from Finland got a similar red carpet treatment to Hanson when he came over for his first game a few seasons back. Watch the team train, meet the staff type thing. Not quite sure how he organised it. Me i just turn up
As we reflect upon the cruel hands of fate, and life's injustices, please also spare a thought for those losers amongst us so lacking in foresight and optimism that we agreed to family or work commitments for the 18 May way before the FA Cup campaign gained momentum ...
Fair enough UEA, perhaps sacking would be a bit harsh, but the system certainly needs revising IMO and perhaps someone else needs to be put in charge of doing this, and the current incumbent should possibly be moved sideways to another job within the club.
I specifically declined a long weekend away over the 18th May (my birthday) in case of a cup final and that was back in December before the cup started! btw - had a quick look and there are only singles behind the goal on lower tier left but plenty of seats to the sides and I think some still to be released. On the upper tier there are plenty everywhere and the middle tier, 2 blocks, only 11 sold but most expensive though.
Or because your son, who doesn't go to games anymore, can't get a ticket. The feet stamping on this thread is incredible.
As a season ticket holder for the best part of 50 years I and a large group of mates are happy we have our final tickets sorted out. 14 tickets , 2 groups close together. However we also have lots of friends and family that haven't got the buying history , moved away , started families etc that are desperate to go to the final . There will be a massive Cat C bun fight when they go on sale as I think we could sell 40k easily. I've got mates flying cutting short holidays to be at Wembley. It's very frustrating for those who are sweating on tickets but I think the club are doing the best they can. It's a joke that each finalist only gets 1/3 of the final tickets . We may never get to another final in my lifetime so good luck to those still trying.
Ah, now there's a thing. I've only managed to get to category D on new lover's commitment, plus it's an overseas situation and i don't want to get involved in a ballot. And, the once in a lifetime hinges on a knife edge and is tricky to predict ... there will be many more football matches ...
Priorities m8. I've sacrificed friends, family and the state of the planet to support Watford FC. They should have thought of possibly reaching an FA Cup Final before falling in love, having children or having a job.
Could someone be kind enough to post the graphic showing the current tickets sold please. Thanks in advance.
