Watford boss Malky Mackay is set to sign Dundee United’s Scottish international winger Craig Conway on a free transfer. Conway is leaving the SPL side at the end of his contract and will join the Hornets shortly as Mackay looks to raid his homeland for the exciting attacker. Mackay has been on the trail of Conway for months as he looks to strengthen.
Only 5' 7" "Conway, was close to signing for Championship outfit Cardiff City on the 17 January 2011. rangers launched a late loan bid to take conway to ibrox during the 2010/2011 january transfer window but the bid was rejected."
Would be quality if true but hes very sought after, id imagine a bigger team than us would be in for him, especially on a free transfer

How do you expect to build a promotion challenging team from a bunch of Scotch blokes from such an inferior league as the SPL is beyond me. Tell me this is an April Fools. ****ing Jocks.
Don Cowie and Steven McGinn are both good Scots. If this guy was as good as them I'd be pleased. But it does seem a bit strange that he's been linked with us on April Fools Day! :dismay:
You're right, the best a national newspaper could come up with is linking an almost unknown player to a club that no-one gives two cr*ps about.
Just looked at the stats of Dundee United JH. League Scottish League Premier Division: Winners (1): 1982*€“83[29] Scottish League Division Two: Winners (2): 1924*€“25, 1928*€“29[29] Cups Scottish Cup: Winners (2): 1993*€“94, 2009*€“10[29] Runners-up (7): 1973*€“74, 1980*€“81, 1984*€“85, 1986*€“87, 1987*€“88, 1990*€“91, 2004*€“05 Scottish League Cup: Winners (2): 1979*€“80, 1980*€“81[29] Runners-up (4): 1981*€“82, 1984*€“85, 1997*€“98, 2007*€“08 Europe UEFA Cup: Runners-up (1): 1986*€“87[29] European Cup: Semi-finalists (1): 1983*€“84 I think the stats speak for themselves , so they are quite a good team for a bunch of Jocks.
You know these MP's like their bit on the side....... Goodwillie is out of the question. Re signed for his club.
I know , signed a 1 year extension. On the Conway situation the folks on the Dundee United Forum are saying that he was in London last week , they did say he was talking to three London Clubs , one of them being Watford. The other two clubs were not mentioned. And before anyone says Watford is not in London...... bla bla bla bla what do expect from a bunch of Jocks in Scotchland.
I once told an Abberdonian that I was from Lincolnshire, he said where's that, I told him just south of Yorkshire to which he replied Och you're a cockney! So them thinking Watford is a London club is quite forgivable.
IF true (and that's a big if), he'd be a fabulous signing. Great player on his day. He could certainly do better in terms of wages though I would think. Enjoying your wind up Doug?
http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/8955075.Mackay_won_t_comment_on_possible_Conway_signing/ Malky not commenting either way it seems.
That article has actually given me confidence of some truth in the matter, otherwise would just brush it of, hope so!
Stuart Pearce was an electrician. He even used to put adverts for himself in Nottm Forest's programmes.
Ah, so that's why Bassini/Bazini's Mum's friend is on the board - it's to scout promising hairdressers for us.
More Conway rumours... http://www.scotsman.com/hibernianfc/The-Rumour-Mill-Friday39s-football.6752318.jp Rangers face a battle if they want to sign Dundee United winger Craig Conway on a free transfer this summer. The Scotland cap has already signalled his intention to leave via the Bosman ruling and the Ibrox club made a last-minute inquiry about the player in the January transfer window. But now Malky Mackay's Watford are understood to be making a serious pitch for the 25-year-old. (Daily Mail)
lol @ rangers facing a battle what , from us ?!? HO HO HO , the choice ,the choice , it would be a tough one , i can see that
We have some serious competition by the look of it, which begs the question will he join a club trying to get into the premiership or a club playing in Europe next season?
