Think Danny Graham scored 2 and Lansbury? Might totally wrong though. Yes I remember it was wet and cold - only had some thin coat on. Mind you wasn't as bad as Blackpool on the final day of the season in 2008! Least we had a roof.
Erm. Not sure of your point. I just listen to the podcast, I don't record it - so it clearly wasn't me or anyone I know. And lots of people on this forum have said they expected Gray to get 10 goals this season. All of us that said that were wrong. What is your point?
I hope for the best, but l think this be a 3-0 defeat. Coventry will be too mobile for our ageing, slow, disinterested players. A defeat may leave Xisco one more game to save his job if the rumours are true. Then again, a heavy defeat could mean that he may be gone by Monday.
Bachmann Ngakia WTE Sierralta Kiko Sarr Cleverly Hughes Sema Zinckernagel Pedro Subs Elliot Cathcart Wilmot Massina Chalobah Deeney Perica (back in training) Success (back in training) Phillips Gosling is not fit
We had a pretty decent side to be fair. Loach was in goal, but the defence kept a clean sheet nonetheless. That was the season we had Clevs on loan, but he was on crouches by this point. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/8644959.stm
The Malky team was streaks ahead of the cloggers we have now. They may not be as technically gifted as some, but they gave a damn. Doyley, Harvey, Taylor, Sordell, Graham. We had a young and hungry side.
We finished 16th after a flattering finish (the Coventry win followed a 3-0 against Reading) following a terrible run of 21 points from 27 games that had us worried about relegation, hardly decent. But there seemed to be a good team spirit and of course there was Doyley day... The next season was much more enjoyable with some fantastic results against the top sides, Danny netting 24 and a six-game winning streak that put us into a good position to make the play-offs, how we didn't even make top half I still don't know.
Why is Gosling unfit? Why sign an ageing player who has a skill level of zero. His main aim is to run around the pitch a lot. Not fit? What a joke we are as a club.
We also finished above Palace who had gone into Administration and were docked 10 points. They were then rescued by 4 local businessmen/fans (Parish etc) and who stabilised the club for another two seasons under novice manager Freedman before a better run in their third season then lead to a PO final win v us. Any potential similarities for us-local businessman/fans plus patience and stability in head coach
Are you citing Palace as an example of stability in the head coach role? Prior to appointing Roy Hodgson as manager in 2017 they had Freedman, Holloway, Warnock, Pardew, Allardyce and De Boer in 6 years. Yes latterly they seem to have done it, although it helps that Hodgson has deep ties with Palace.
Gosling had a minor muscle injury before he joined us. Surely that is all it is ? Depressing. Our medical staff are either inept or we accept signing players on the cheap knowing how injury prone they are. It would be great of the club to tell us exactly how Perica and Success who could be vital are nearing fitness one week then disappear for a couple of months. Successful teams are built on lack of injuries unless you have an enormous squad. You only have to see what a few injuries to Cesspool have done to their title defence.
And most of their fans want to see a change because they find Roy too dull and negative. Lots of average defensive performances with the odd decent win thrown in. Eze has been a good buy though.
Lou Orns reckons Gosling has some sort of chronic knee injury but then that hasn’t stopped Deeney being picked!
That may mean he can only play not train intensively depending on what the complaint is. If that is true then we may call the club a convalescent retirees home. And another extremely poor decision from Meathead and company.
As long as it doesn't change from chronic to acute we maybe able to wheel him onto the pitch by mid March.
Not really just about the head coach but they went bust under the ownership of Simon Jordan and local fans/businessmen rode in to the rescue and then for the two seasons after that they had stability until Freedman left-then Holloway and beating us to get to the PL. I agree since being in the PL they have not been very different but the money by being in the PL and then with external investment by some wealthy USA guys has helped them remain in PL I am merely trying to paint a possible outcome for us if Pozzo's will not invest any of their own money and our finances become unsustainable if we don't go up.
I don't thing Gosling is actually injured, according to the club site he is apparently not yet match fit as it is quite some time since he has actually played in a match.
If Masina and Kiko are still not available, I'd like us to try something new. 3-5-2 formation, with Zincker and Sema working hard to cover defensive and attacking positions. ..........................Bachmann ...............WTE....Sieralta...Wilmot Zinckernagel...Chalobah..Hughes..Cleverley..Sema .........................Sarr..Deeney Admittedly, this would clean out our entire midfield, so if anyone gets injured we'd only have Dan Phillips on the bench to cover, seeing as Gosling is out. But I think it would be an interesting line-up. We get to see Zinckernagel in his natural position as well as playing Sarr. Midfield would be strong too. If you want to change it up, as both Zincker and Sema would probably be knackered, you could bring on Pedro for Sema and switch Sarr to wide right and bring on whoever the forward is to play in Sarr's position (Gray, Perica, Success) I would have Hughes and Chalobah in front of the back three with Cleverley more advanced, almost alongside Deeney who I would play deeper, as he has been doing, with Sarr up top running onto through balls. Sema and Zinckernagel would have a free role up and down the flanks depending on where the play is directed.
I feel like an idiot, what does the 2nd message infer? Are they taking money out of the club for them selves?
Ok so no RB or RWB, just a "RM with defensive responsibilities". Gotcha. Is Sema a LWB or a LM "with defensive responsibilities" ?
Basically he's saying that Watford gave Gosling a three year deal, in exchange for the agent waiving 80% of his agent fee. Saying Watford got the agents fee is a bit disingenuous as it would have been Watford paying the fee in the first place. In this deal Watford would have paid 20% of the agent fee and no more. I must admit, that text was so badly written, it's not easy to really understand it.
