Seeing as we are into RESTING players these days, surely this would be a match to do this, after all we have almost no chance of winning this game.

Sure it can be annoying to be at a football match where some of the infrequent attendees get upset if it gets a bit raucous and they hear a few bad words. As if they don't realise this is the sort of behaviour that goes on regularly at football matches.

But we are bidding to get to the Premiership. If we do then expect more WFC supporters both home and away and more season ticket holders. If that's not what we wish for then what is the point of the new EJ stand? Just to give us a four-sided ground that's more pleasing on the eye?

Much of this new regular support will come from those you describe as 'plastics'. Those who, up until now, have only attended sporadically at home and the odd 'high profile' away game in the cup. So would you welcome these new regular supporters then who, up until now, have been 'plastic'? Should they be required to behave in a way that meets your approval? Or would you wish to keep the WFC supporting stock pure and minimal because the potential new lot wouldn't support their club in the right way as you perceive it and don't have a track record of attending regularly before?

B.t.w. You're talking to a guy who enjoys jumping up and shouting and swearing a bit himself. But not incessantly.

If we did reach the prem it would be Great to get more fans to fill the vic and that would not effect the season ticket holders that have been going for years But for away matches the club should only sell to fans who have been going to atleast 6 away matches each year in the last two years first aswell as having a season ticket. Its not fair for people to just come along and have the same right as people who have been supporting for years. And if Watford go back down they will all **** off again anyway, but the loyal fans we will always remain in my opinion.Just like the Chelsea game they should of only sold 1 ticket per season card first and Gave the best seats to people who go away regular. Then season ticket holders who don't go to away games then give the plastics there own little section together where they belong if any tickets are left.If people want to come and support Watford out of the blue they should have to earn there rights to go to the big games and show some loyalty first.

I'm sure they would have preferred to do this but time (and Xmas post) did not allow. There are already concerns about tickets arriving in time via the post, hence the request for people to contact the club today and presumably make arrangements to pick up copy tickets at Stamford Bridge on Sunday

Fair point but if we get into the prem away tickets should go to regular away followers first.

I can go along with some of that. I reckon that allowing each s.t. holder four tickets per application for this match was an excessively cautious policy on behalf of the club just because they had 6000 tickets to shift. It was disrespectful to a large number of s.t. holders who didn't maybe realise they'd have to move so fast. And recognising that many s.t. holders would easily be able to shift three extra tickets themselves was a recognition of the high profile of the match anyway. So I'd have supported a policy of two tickets per s.t. holder. Why two? Well, I don't think there's any harm in taking along a mate who might be a bit of a fair weather supporter or who has maybe never been before. That's one of the ways you get regular new supporters.

I really don't get the bit about having to prove your away credentials. If you're an s.t. holder at WFC you have adequately proved your loyalty irrespective of how many away games you've attended recently. You're an s.t. holder and want go to this away game is enough. All your other 'rules' just sound overly complicated. Anyway, surely if you regularly attend away games you're very likely to be an s.t. holder and will have had your finger on the pulse for applications for this match and would have got in early if you wanted to go. Do you have any evidence that regular away attenders have missed out?

In addition, do you have any evidence that spare tickets are going to 'their Chelsea mates'? If I had one, two or three tickets to shift I'd be damn sure they'd be going to my WFC supporting, or potentially supporting, mates.

P.S. Disliked in error. It's a habit of mine ...

Window opens on Saturday. Think players have to be registered for weekend games by midday Friday so no. Judging by his twitter he's still in Mexico as well.

Could go either way. Either we'll be on the end of a possible thumping, or their confidence will be shaken and we'll have every chance of a win or a replay at the Vic

I can't see anything other than Chelsea resting the majority of their first team now. Considering how tired they look in this game, he has to rest some of them.

Whatever happens expect the usual lack of grace from Mourinho. They try and compare him with the great managers but this aspect of him leaves him in the wake of those.

    Wrong.

The Spurs result was an accident and we will reap the backlash

The cupset potential is zero to minus

A replay at the vic is a different thing but chelsea have two chances to win either they outplay us or they cheat us.

    Mourinho's got a bit of a problem.
The bulk of his first team have had three gruelling games in a very short space of time and should be rested, ideally - but are his second string able to cope with a more than competent, fresh and "up for it" Watford side?
I bet he was hoping to get a couple of quick goals up against Spurs and coast out the second half, resting key players in the process - but as it panned out, it was hard fought and ultimately disappointing loss.

This could be a very interesting tie.

More than that, although I haven't actually heard him publicly come out and say it, I'm sure he had half an eye on all four trophies. This Spurs defeat plus Lampard staying on at City must now focus all his energy on the PL and CL at all costs leaving the FA Cup as a pretty dispensable competition. I would be surprised to see anyone remotely close to his first team squad on Sunday.

Or alternatively he might be thinking "I had better make darn sure I win the FA Cup in case I don't win the league".

Nobody at those clubs cares about the cups. Look at arsenal, their fans have already forgotten that they won it in May because they are not top three.

Cech, Zouma, Luis, Schurrle, Drogba and Remy will probably play, I'm sure Mourinho will sleep fine on Saturday night.

You're probably right. I bet Mourinho's success over the years is down to sheer luck, not meticulous planning. I bet he doesn't even know which team he's facing until the team coach rolls up outside the ground. I'd be amazed if he's even heard of Watford. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if 6000 Watford fans turn up to a locked Stamford Bridge because no one told Mourinho there was a game on.

    Strawman in what way exactly?

Watford not featuring in Mourinho's thoughts was 100% your argument. Or perhaps you meant something else by "Yeah I'm sure the mighty Watford was at the forefront of his mind during the Spurs game"? If so, could you make your point a little clearer for me?

Maybe "Strawman" means something else to you.
