Processed (Plastic) cheese has it's place but to consider it as even applicable in a favourite cheese list is a stretch. Might as well have added cottage, mini baby bell & Dairylea I'm with Wallace. What's wrong with Wensleydale? and also no Philadelphia?
It’s not the same as when it spontaneously erupts on a thread. Having its own thread has killed cheese. A sad day for the forum .
I actually had some cheese on toast for breakfast this morning, smashing stuff. We had no Worcestershire sauce in which was disappointing though.
How do you make your cheese on toast? I grill one side, then put the cheese on the other then grill that side so the cheese melts into the bread. Sure the otherside can get a bit burnt but I still think it tastes nice.
That list is offensive. Not only by the preposterous no.1 entry, but where’s the Comte, where’s the Jarlsberg? And I would also add Talagani, even though I only have it on holiday.
Processed anything is just a cheaper way of making the original food variant. In some circumstances it can work well, but in cheese you always can tell due to a rubbery texture to it. For example, proper mature Cheddar (Seriously Strong or Red Leicester) will always have a more 'authentic taste to the pallet. Having said that though, their is nothing wrong with a cheaper version of an original brand especially if it does the job can usually be bought in bulk.
I’ve tried so many times to like blue cheese. So many times. Love any non blue cheese. Still can’t eat blue.
Yes. American baked or soft with fruit on the top ? Can’t beat a cheap McVities strawberry cheesecake and double cream !
Pecorino with chopped red chillis in it, sometimes known as Diavoletta. Delicious stuff if you can find it. That's my current favorite.
I can thoroughly recommend Chaource - a camembert style cheese, but much more flavourful. Tesco stock it. https://www.cheese.com/chaource/
