We should help them out by signing Holmes off of them then.

I'm not at all wholesale disagreeing with your assessment of his talent or the unreasonable expectation of it from fans of his youth club, but to be fair to the lad, he's 27 and he's played over 125 times for Spurs in the league alone, not to mention representing his country 10 times - purely off the back of what he's done to date, he's thoroughly, utterly eclipsed whatever either McEachran or Carroll's career trajectories can be said to have been.

He's certainly not what he was 'supposed' to be and he's clearly on the way down at this point, but he's still on a different plane as a footballer to those two - McEachran in particular.

Not sure about Winks, hope he’s a good character and not salty about having to take a step down.

Coady will prove to be a good signing I think, limited player but on a different planet mentally to the sorry losers who got us relegated.

Maddison has gone to Spurs. They were made for each other.

Maddison always reminds me of David Brent.

Physically I see a young Noel Edmunds but I know what you mean. He also comes across as absolutely desperate for people to like him, which is pretty Brentian.

Pretty fortunate that Spurs are based in Brent then :).
    "Brendian" too?

I think Coady is an excellent signing at this level. When I saw he was leaving Everton I hoped he might join us, then I remembered we're Watford.

Been quite funny seeing some of my fellow Leicester fans saying ‘but he’s not good enough for Wolves or Everton so why are we signing him?!’

I look forward to a rendition from our super-bright fans of 'Did you cry when Deeney scored?' as we're 5-0 down to Leicester after 55 minutes.

Only for QPR, whose only win since October was against us, to pick up the win needed to gleefully down their biggest foes...

If they're signing him with a view to being a long-term Prem option upon going up, he ain't that, but considering most Championship strikers have the mobility of Troy Deeney and the clinical finishing of Andre Gray, he'll do well at this level

Considering Winks could have just continued to pick up his money sitting on the bench at Tottingham, I think it's a good sign of his character that he's willing to take a step down. Seen him compared to Josh McEachran on here, the difference being Winks has looked flashy yet pretty ineffective at a higher level, should be good in the Championship

The EFL have just announced changes to the substations for next season. Clubs can now choose 5 from 9. An increase from 7.

We’re gonna need a bigger bench.

Sensible move imo. Having to choose 5 from 6 outfielders seems unreasonable.

Excellent, we can now fill it with youth players that are never going to get on the pitch because of the 'RuLe Of eLeVeN'.

Part of the reason Ismael had great success with Barnsley was the move to 5 subs tbf!

Great that he uses what is available to good effect, let's hope it works for us.

I just think more on the bench and more subs means more cost. Most clubs could do without the extra cost.

Not sure it'll make much difference in that regard, I don't think it'll make any difference to squad building, we'll try to make a viable 25 man squad, it's just more of them get into the match day squad
