Think he had us down as there for the taking, and the brutal reality of that spanking hasn't quite set in. You could see him screaming inside during that interview bless him.

What I will say though is he's absolutely perfect for us as a pantomime villain, and good on him for playing his part. Makes it far more entertaining.

Rivalry aside, he's actually done a very good job considering they are a team of League 1 players

It causes more than enough hassle in the PL as it is (we have had first hand experience). I think it is getting better, but it's certainly not required for football league levels.

As it currently stands, Preston beating Swansea puts us into the playoffs if we win tomorrow night. I'm going by the fact BBC Sport auto-updates their live table? Low scoring games tonight too.

Horrible challenge from Norwood in the Bristol City - Sheffield United game, ref didn't even give a free kick. Clear red card.

Blackburn either seem to lose or win !

Preston with another clean sheet .

    The Gnome extremely amusing tonight.
Jumping up and down on the touchline a la Basil Fawlty yelling " calm down, calm down,CALM DOWN!"

Awful challenge from the City player. But Sheffield United are a horrible team, full of *********s. Very lucky win that but they'll be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.

Looks like everyone is playing for 2nd given how Burnley keep smuggling wins from seemingly impossible situations. Rotherham bottled it tonight leading 2-1 going into injury time but after the ref found a cheeky 11 minutes extra they folded completely. Obviously only switched over to that game as the clock ticked into the 90th minute, so no idea where the extra time came from, but the commentator seemed to be suggesting the final whistle was imminent from 95:00 so not a clue what the ref was up to.

Edit: Just seen from Burnley Twitter it was 10 mins added on.

Burnley are relentless. Have they had their bad patch or is that still to come?

Hiding his Burnley shirt under his ref shirt. We won our game so they never got any further away. But I do agree, 100th minute? C'mon.

    An injury ?

Time wasting which never usually gets added on?

They drew a few games earlier in the season, but honestly, they have looked pretty terrific all season, I'm struggling to think of a time where they have been outplayed, they have only lost the once this season and that was slightly unluckily against us!

That’s what happens when you make the right appointment at the start of the season instead of letting one of your lackeys have a lucky punt .

As it stands Burnley do look very strong points wise and are playing some good football. However their run of very late goals will not last all season, and just like I thought Sheff Utd might runaway with it, Burnley may do this instead. This division is very unpredicatable and as of yet there is no stand out side overall. We're looking better now than a few weeks ago and it's amazing how far a couple of wins can propell you up the table, and vice-versa. Still not even half way through and we have a tough run of fixtures during the Xmas period coming up as well as winnable fixtures (next two). Whoever keeps the momentum up now till January could be well clear of third place, and anyone of the sides in the top ten could go on a great run. It's what makes the Championship so exciting.

Now we've finally started a winning run, we have 5 winnable games before Xmas, albeit with a long break in the middle, if we rack up another 11-15 points from that I'd be happy enough. 40+ points at the half way stage is decent in this league.

I predict that we will not drop below sixth place between now and the end of the season......

I obviously hope that you are correct on this, but as it stands there are 5 teams who could force us into doing exactly that this weekend alone, including the Scummers, so personally I'd be a little cautious. There isn't exactly clear daylight there, yet.

If we fail to win on Saturday we will be out of the top 6 again immediately.

And if Preston win tonight at Reading then we drop out without even kicking a ball

Not exactly, no, though I meant to reply to the original point, not your reply. My bad.

  25. Reading v PNE is, honestly, the worst game I have ever seen. Both teams utter gash. We should be destroying teams like these.

    1-0 Preston .

With Preston’s record of clean sheets that might be it.

Alongside some rant about fireworks and how do people still watch them in 2022 telling them to “grow up “

Well I guess the kids that enjoy them are still growing …

    Not his best night !
