Labour will surely take back the "Red Wall" seat of Wakefield, but I was amazed to see the odds on the LibDems taking the Devon seat (between 1/5 and 1/14). Very convenient for Johnson that the NC vote has already been held.......

The Torygraph is rattled - complaining that Labour front benchers are heading North not West for their by-election campaining. Have they never heard of a campaign strategy?

I wonder what Johnson's plans are for the next 10 days? If I was a tory candidate I wouldn't want him anywhere near my campaign.

The Labour front bench is usually the Tories’ biggest asset, so their complaint is dismissed as without merit.

I’m looking forward to what logic mangling bs they will employ to support ‘Big Dog’ after the drubbings. We weren’t actually chased out of either town by a mob with pitchforks and torches. That constitutes a win for a governing party.

If the Tory rebels had been more organised they'd have waited until after the by-elections before handing in their letters. No way bojo would win a no confidence vote after the incoming d1ck1ngs

As I said in another thread, I wouldn’t be surprised if the no confidence vote was forced through by Boris supporters ahead of the by-elections. It happened very quickly after polls indicated a loss in both constituencies.

The best thing all the parties can do is just keep a low profile.
Publicity for any side is likely to just fck things up. The lot of them are just liabilities.

Traditionally ruling parties rarely win bi-elections. It will be an absolute miracle if the current lot get anywhere close.

The betting odds and Libdems internal polling are suggesting that the Tories are looking stronger in Devon as we move into the last couple of days........

I'd imagine the train strike makes many Devon folk mad and will help the Tory cause. Without trains, people in Devon can only look longingly at what other people have elsewhere on TV and jump up and down excitedly hooting and pointing at the TV.

The Tories have already factored in defeat in both by-elections. If they get anything less than a stonking now they will portray it as a good news story.
