Not sure about that, as we've appointed plenty of people who have had good careers before and after us, but we simply don't create an environment for anyone to succeed
Looking forward to this one. Cheap ales before, then balls deep in Bangladeshi cuisine after. **** THE FOOTBALL
This really is a huge game. B'ham are on a terrible run and one point and one place above the bottom 3. Win and we are 9 points above them with 8 to play, lose and we are just 3 points above them with a tough tough run to come.
I think the key for the rest of the season is whether Clevs can get the best out of Dennis. That means playing him in his correct position and setting up the right players to support him.
Interesting from Deeney. Some pretty astute insights when he's got his football brain switched on. Worth a listen.
It's not though is it - because it gives no indication as to why an environment for anyone to succeed supposedly isn't there. You're basically just saying that "we're failing because we're failing".
OK... let's workshop this. "Pozzo simply doesn't create an environment for anyone to succeed". Let's take that as our starter and see how we can develop it.
Errmmm, the very reason why I keep asking you "why" is because you have not been able to identify what the actual problem is, or causes are, which require the solutions. Pozzo not creating the right environment for success was your original premise and opinion - I can't give you the reasons as to why you believe that to be the case, I'm just encouraging you to list them as the original statement you made was shallow and inadequate.
Our managers lack influence and authority. They lack influence as we have limited funds, and give little control over our squad makeup. They lack authority as both the owners and managers see them as short term and disposable parts of the whole. So: 1. For a short tenure manager model to work we would need to have an overall football philosophy and system put in place at above manager level. We would then need to recruit senior players and train youngsters in this approach. This could be done but is not. 2. Alternatively you plan on making managers more important and longer term appointments. This needs a change in philosophy from owners and CEO which has never happened despite the words on Edwards appointment. Again, this could be addressed with the will to do so. Our hire and fire record does make this much harder to attract the right manager to give more power, influence and time to. Currently I really don't know what the hierarchy are even attempting but I'd like to see them at least have a plan rather than lurching from one appointment to the next with no direction. Our lack of money makes implementing anything more difficult too.
I posted on another thread: the preceding discussion was about us and he really talked a lot of sense, I was somewhat taken aback!
In my opinion Gino Pozzo is poison in human form. A ghastly individual, and his corrosive influence seeps into the fabric of any organisation he is closely associated with. He also surrounds himself by like minded individuals who magnify the impact as they seek to self enrich. The poor host is powerless to fend off the combined attack and simply decays. Where once stood a wonderful football club lies a festering pool of pus, consumed by the parasites within it. The club these days is a lifeless grey shell, unable to recover or even make a token attempt to fight the enemy within.
I'm intrigued to see how we get on tomorrow. Birmingham under Venus are trying to play it out from the back and seem very reluctant to do so and the club video suggests that we are looking at a high press game. Will be interesting to see how well we implement the press, with that in mind you would think Bayo will start.
Well Uranus closest neighbours are Saturn and Neptune, so we could either run rings around them or be left out in the freezing cold.
It's pretty daft that someone is allowed to make a post like Jumbo's original and it's not allowed to be ridiculed/criticised ? Just read the words used in his post. Presumably the original post was the "baiting" so why leave that there and not allow a response ? We all know Jumbo "doesn't like" the owner, many don't, but few others use the same OTT/inflamatory wording.
My original post was tongue in cheek (mostly). I read Rous response and was fine with it. Wasn’t really expecting original post to be taken seriously just thought it was more flamboyant than saying “rancid”.
