I've put the prefix as "suggestion" but I'm actually putting this forward as a rumour (basically I'm creating it) because I think Hamid might be actually linked with us.

Where have I got this from? http://www.blackandredunited.com/dc-united-transfers/2015/12/2/9838366/bill-hamid-norwich-city-premier-league-train-dc-united

Now I know the article clearly points out Norwich City, but there's no actual evidence that points to him going to Norwich for a trial. It's just that he has reportedly been linked with Norwich. Now they do have a bit of a goalie problem, what with Ruddy prone to the odd gaff recently, but it's not like they're short of goalies. They've got Ruddy, Rudd and Kean (who they've just acquired on a free). If their gaffer really didn't have that much faith in Ruddy, surely he would just try Rudd or Kean (both of whom are relatively ok keepers)?

That then made me think about this website just wrongly linking Hamid with Norwich and then about our goalkeeper situation. What if the Yanks just mistook Norwich for us? After all we're two newly-promoted clubs who wear yellow (sounds like poor reasoning but I genuinely don't see them knowing that much about either of us because we're not part of the "Big 6"). More importantly we need a third keeper after Gilmartin being ruled out for the rest of the season because we simply can't rely on young Gartside to step up from the academy.

Hamid was last season's MLS Keeper of the Year and is actually a half-decent keeper from across the pond. He's also actually in London at the moment with no sign of him being anywhere else (Norwich or otherwise). Could he be actually coming here on a half-season-long loan deal thing from DC United, seeing as the MLS season is coming to a close now?

Potentially. Also worth throwing Bournemouth's name into the mix, who have a far more drastic goalkeeper crisis to contend with.

True. Bournemouth also will have the American connection so that's not bad of a shout as well

Out of interest, when was the last time we had a footballer who calls himself "Bill" as opposed to Billy or something else? I'm sure we must have had a few if you go back far enough but I can't think of one since the mid 70's.

    Is this Prince Naseem's brother?

Does he enter the field of play on a magic carpet?

As far as I can see Bill Baxter in the 70's was the last Bill. I think one of the funniest names to have donned our shirt is Bert Badger who played around 60 games in 1906/8.
