Assuming one or both go in the non too distant future, it needs one of them to forfeit the non disclosure parting agreement and lift the lid on what things are really like behind Pozzo's iron curtain.
I don’t think he’d be sacked, I think he would just walk. His reputation is being trashed by working for Watford.
Manga is a classic example of Gino doing something for window dressing without really knowing why he’s doing it. The contract extension thing is another example in a long line of them.
This whole deal is on the death march. Never started and never worked with the composition the owner put together. The owner threw his relationship with Bayat back at fans faces and the majority swallowed it - purely because of a buzzword (Parlaci). That whole event should have been about the abyss is Gino is taking us down. The fallout of whatever (alleged) shadiness was happening with MB was placed with more importance than whatever Manga wanted to do to change things. Thats a fact. Manga has a contract but input? Minimal. The club has gone to the dogs. And god knows what’s happening with the actual team. Ismael has best intentions - but it’s beyond repair for even the best IMO.
The sad fact is that our hilarious castoffs to Udinese in recent years, Zeegelaar & Success would be the best players in our current squad. How did anyone, Manga, Giaretta, VI, think that Raj would arrive ready to contribute in a meaningful way in the championship this season ?
Gino and co obviously thought we had enough in the squad this season to stay up while clearing the debt. Once the debt was cleared to a workable amount maybe they were planning to start rebuilding bit by bit? Hard to blame Manga for the players brought in when he had £1 million to work with and didnt have final say. There were some freebies around which might have improved us but it seems we dont have the wage budget to cover that.
You could ask that about almost every player we've brought in the past few years, though, couldn't you, frankly.
At least Raj has scored a few. But has a fraction of Isaac's general talent. Hopefully more application.
Gino’s itchy trigger finger had to fire someone after giving Val a new deal, Manga meets the right mix of important enough to satisfy the craving and under-performing enough to be justified. Goodbye Ben, thanks for Araujo and Rajovic I guess?
Pozzo strikes again! He can get rid of Ismael in the international break now he's got rid of the guy who 'recommended' him. Textbook Pozzo.
I’m fully jumping upon the Pozzo out train if this is true. The only positive of the last few years was that we somehow managed to get a guy who was highly touted and took Frankfurt to the UCL. He’ll go on and do good things at another club too, which will make it all the more depressing.
This is absolutely positively unambiguously undeniably HILARIOUS. Grade-A Gino shythousery. As others have said, he had to get his firing in somehow. Of course Manga is getting fired. Of course. What other outcome could there have been?
I predicted on a number of occasions on here he'd be gone by the end of the summer. It’s been bloomin’ warm this weekend but we all know it’s the last hurrah. I’m claiming credit for calling it. Gino can see the same weather forecasts.
Source for Manga's supposed sacking appears to be one person on Twitter: https://twitter.com/LucaBendoni/status/1711047423202664455 I have never heard of Luca Bendoni, have no idea if he is credible or legitimate, and if his connections to the Pozzo circle are at all worthwhile. He is followed by Julian Laurens and an Italian football journalist who I'd see as legit. Would be good to have some additional sourcing on this.
That is verrrry ******, if true. Manga was part of the new direction we're supposed to be heading in, but that doesn't seem to have happened. He doesn't seem to have made much of an impact, but how much of that is due to Gino's restrictions? It's hard to say what impact Manga and Costa have actually made, considering their rep?
Gino was told his nickname in Germany was ‘The Alchemist’, so he’s been sacked for misrepresentation as he has proven unable to find guaranteed 20 goal a season strikers at EFL Champ level for the princely sum of below £1million…and I’ve heard he has been very disrespectful to that nice Mr Bayat.
They signed a player with a 100 million Euro release clause who couldn't hit a barn door, that sort of player is hard to come by.
He works for Di Marzio which is a big Italian publication and is owned by Sky Sports I think, would be odd for an Italian publication to make something up about Watford as it's hardly gonna be big clickbait for them.
