First new rumour of the day... http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/valon-behrami/leistungsdaten/spieler/21905/plus/?saison=2014
Decent utility man. Think he can play across the midfield or at full back, plus he's played in England. It's a yes from me.
"According to "Sport Bild", Watford are interested in signing Hamburger SV midfielder Valon Behrami. The newly promoted Premier League side are reportedly already in talks to sign the former West Ham player. The 30-year-old Switzerland international made 23 games last season."
One of the great entertainers on the tennis court, should easily transfer over to a soccerball pitch. It's a yes from me.
Would prefer him to Ledesma as hes younger and got EPL experience. Would prefer him to Stambouli as hes more experienced in a team that is quite young. Would prefer him to Badu for same reason. Probably a better footballer too.
Would be pretty happy with this if the fee isn't too much due to his age. He's played in the EPL, Champs League, Europa League and spent most of his career at a top level. The only player we've linked to that I'd prefer in his position is Inler but otherwise I tend to agree with BRLR. He's very physical without getting too many cards (5 reds in 400 games), you don't get past him easily and he's also quite capable on ball. Would be a pretty solid signing in my opinion.
Yes, Inler would be my first choice too but have written him off although not yet entirely. Quick bit of research on Behrami s career since leaving West Ham. Last year at Hamburg came 4th from bottom in Bundesliga . But his 4 years in Italy with Napoli and Fiorentina he started pretty much every match he was available for and came 2nd, 3rd twice and 5th in Serie A.
Offical tweet from Hamburg saying that Behrami is exempt from training to consider offer from other clubs...
Hopefully he can use the time off to go to local nightclubs so that he doesn't have to play catch up when Murray takes him daaaaaan Oceania
German press saying the 2 clubs after him are us and Fiorentina. Hopefully, having already played for Fiorentina he ll fancy a new challenge. Also encouraging that Fiorentina rate him enough to re sign him
Looks like he had a great season last year
According to Amy Lewis of Sky Sports we're 'likely' to sign him, whilst Stambouli is still considering a move here.
I don't really remember him doing anything at West Ham. He doesn't really seem to do anything here given this is a highlights video. Other than, as you say, his hair....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlfIFHHSaQs has anyone seen a highlights reel where he actually does anything apart from wrestles people
I think it says a lot when Florentina want him back, West Ham fans on twitter saying they'd happily have him back and the Napoli fans loved him. Fans love a player that gets stuck in and he certainly does that! Will compliment Capoue well and if we get Stambouli too that's very good defensive mid options.
Its oddly low key for a highlights video - he's actually got a really good CV when you look at it. Would be a good experienced addition
Reportedly having a medical with us tomorrow https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano?...tw_p=embeddedtimeline&tw_w=357087017366077441
Yup. Knows the country, knows the division..good experienced pro. We seem to be recruiting from the back..keeper, centre half, not for want of trying a full back or two, defensive mids..and hopefully soon the gold dust of a really brilliant creator and attacker..
Quite like the thought of this actually 4 DMs in the squad - Capoue, Watson, Behrami, Taider? bit of an outcast / misfits / bad boy feel to it - but good enough to hold their own against most teams outside the top 6/8
