Very slow news day today with exception of Troy.. was hoping the takeover would be near completion any news????????????????????
Clearly they all had one too many Peroni's last night. If it were me, I'd never face the worlds press on a hangover!
It `s all about the money...for me it`s high time Bas to prove that he has put EFFECTIVELY 8-10 mil into the club. My simple table for 2011-2012 is: INCOMES: 4-5 mil from matchday, 3-4 from media, 1-2 from merchandising, 8-10 from transfers....COSTS: 8-9 wages, 4-5 others expenses, 2.5 mil to bondholders, 1 mil players acquisition..............and the rest to complete the balance is the "frozen sum" by Bas protecting himself and not paying temporarily his suppliers. I may be wrong anyway...
I'm not so good with the maths (on account of an American Public school education), but that seems a bit like buying a rusted out '91 Ford Fiesta for £300, slipping some old t-shirts over the seat backs, then putting 4 new tires on for £200, installing a new £100 exhaust, then rewiring the main harness for £300 but then thinking the car is worth more than the £300 you paid for it originally. No matter how much money Bazinga spent on it, the club is only worth what it's worth, right?
I cannot imagine that any Italian would, voluntarily, touch that bottled fizzy pi$$. This reminds me of the time, at university, when my best friend (now a prof somewhere) refused to believe that some people she was arguing with were actually French as "...they had never heard of Piat d'Or...".
I suspect that Bassini is threatening to sue if the bondholders excercise their power of sale under the agreement. He may not have a good case (the breach of the agreement may be totally clear), but the Pozzos I would imagine, would not want to proceed until something is resolved with Bassini, so as to remove any possibility of trouble further down the road. Bassini will hold out for a price, and in the meanwhile his lawyers will have told him to zip it. This is all pure conjecture on my part, I have no evidence, but that is why, I think, we are having a long wait for news.
Just leave via selling to the Pozzo's, Baz, especially if you care for the club like you say in the statement.
Baz is feeling sorry for himself me thinks :'( Quick Links Latest Headlines NEWS: OWNER'S STATEMENT Community Sports & Education Trust TRUST: NEW FUTSAL EDUCATION OPPORTUNITY Match by match TICKETS: BOREHAM WOOD v WATFORD NEWS: OWNER'S STATEMENT Posted on: Tue 26 Jun 2012 WATFORD owner Laurence Bassini wishes to clarify some recent points in the media regarding his period in charge to date at the club. "Our current season tickets sales for 2012/13 at this stage of the summer are our highest for a number of years, while on the football side of things the team and management achieved this club's highest league position for five years after we brought in 11 new players to strengthen the squad.
