There was a full-page interview with Moses Ashikodi in the E.S. yesterday. I can't be bothered to type the whole thing out, but here are a few of the most interesting snippets: A quote from Aidy: "I've talked to Moses about Millwall. He was a young lad and whatever happened you move on. Anyway, I like a rogue." Moses: "I love to talk. And I'm loud. The boys here know that already. I'm really, really loud and I've already been told to calm it down a bit. And I'm definitely a leader on the pitch." "If I am given the chance I will score. It is as simple as that. I know I will score." Moses revealed that he left Rangers because he "wasn't enjoying the training. It wasn't hard enough for me. It was too easy." "I had a few other offers, but the first time I spoke to the gaffer I made up my mind right then. I needed a place to settle down, and I can do that here." I like the sound of this guy, particularly his dislike of Rangers' training as it was too easy. He seems to have the confidence and work-ethic that Aidy wants from his players.
He Could be "THE MAN" He sounds like a very confident lad, I've got a good feeling about this one 8) I don't no why, but I think he's going to be a revelation and take the Premiership by storm MARK MY WORDS!!!! ps I hope he gets a game today!!!!
What an obnoxious big head! - just what we need - a common enemy to build team spirit. A real management challenge for Aidy - fabulous.;D
I do like a talker! Good lad, glad he's confident! We lack that at the moment upfront...a confident striker!
Well he was given a chance today and scored. I can't wait to hear the verdict from people who went to the game.
We are though... safely after an early scare and a very mixed performance. Good to get some goals and Moses looked lively on his debut netting after chasing down the goalie well. Downside was the performance of Francis who was rightly taken off quite soon after half time and we get a bit slopply allowing Stockport to threaten at 2-1 before they tired....Malky and Jay looked iffy I have to say. Hopefully its not the last we have seen of Ashley Young and Macca seem to be improving in recent games which good. So who do we want next!? Not many in attedence so atmosphere was a bit flat till we had the game won and those Stockport lot lost their vocal cords.
I have to say demerit and malky weren't impressive at all defensively. I thought mariappa had a good game and looks better then doyley and chambers.
Certainly one to watch. One game= One goal. Who cares about the booking, it put him in the Rookery boys good books!!
Well the first half wasn't worth watching but there were some high points in the 2nd. Tommy's goal was so scrappy it was almost an effort to cheer, (sorry Tom) Big Malkie getting 2 goals in one game (thats 2 more than Doris has got all season in all competitions) Moses scoring on his debut and then jumping into the rookery,;D if you want to become a fans favourite that's the way to do it. (not too often though as the yellow cards are not welcome) What the hell Ben was doing in the first 3 minutes God only knows and if their players had been a bit sharper we could have been 1-0 down that early. Players that impressed me today were: Al, (love the lad) Macca (full of tricks and now tracks back) Moses (oozes confidence) Marriappa (growing stronger by the game) Tommy (made intelligent runs but not always picked out) Jordan YES JORDAN!! (Not the ultimate in talent but would run til he dropped for the team) Malkie (scored 2 nothing more to say) Players that failed to impress. Doris (if he can't score against this level of opposition then he's out of his depth in the prem) Francis (poor, very poor) Ben (out of position a few times, quite unlike him) Jay (maybe missing Danny, but not good by his own high standards).
Macca's little trick down in front of the Rookery when he let it go through his legs and it ran through to Young was sublime!
hes finally getting better - we should have sent him out on loan last season - or mybe now for a month if aidy feels we have enough back up.
