A lot of it is probably because of the easy looking chance he missed when at 0-0! I agree with u, looked lively and probably not 100% fit yet...
I think there is a difference between lively and productive. McNamee was lively but never achieved anything apart from a few step overs.
Yeah he looked pretty good to me, he did miss a fairly easy chance, but so did Abdi and Nosworthy with those headers. Missing one chance does not result in him being a bad player! And yea With A Smile, he only managed to produce a bicycle kick against West Ham and then be dropped the following week, he was definitely given a fair chance:sign15:
Who has been having a go at him? Looked quite pacey and skillful I thought. Added more as an attacking threat.
I just saw a few comments such as "has he won a competition to play for watford as a sub?"...bemusing I thought
Anya was not on the pitch for long enough to have a damning view. I thought he was quick to the loose ball and seems to be very quick over that initial 5 yards. He did miss an easy chance by trying to be too certain instead of lashing the ball in, but we missed two even better chances with open goal headers, so I wouldn't hold that against him. He needs a run of matches and I'm sure you'll see he has something good to offer the side. Players with pace scare Championship defences to death.
