According to Transfermarkt he's on loan from Brazilian side Joinville, although will be joining Arouca permanently in the summer for €60k. The details sound messy and probably too complicated for all 3 sides to get done in the last couple of days in the window so would imagine this will be one for the summer if it's gonna happen. I think that it is possible that Transfermarkt may have made an error here. Antony was initially sent on a loan to Arouca from Joinville until 30 June 2023, but Arouca bought him from Joinville in November 2022 when he signed a contract with them until 30 June 2026. They made two payments in November and December 2023 (60 thousand Euros in total) and Joinville will receive - if I have understood correctly - 20% of any future transfer fee. Wikipedia shows that Joinville have eleven players out on loan (including to clubs in Qatar and South Korea), but he is not one of those eleven listed players. zerozero.pt shows that he was on loan during the period 2021-2022 at Arouca, but that it is no longer a loan from Joinville. I have provided a link (written in Portuguese) from the local newspaper in Joinville (4/11/2022), which reports his sale to Arouca. The headline translates as: "JEC discloses the value of the sale of a player to FC Arouca, from Portugal. Antony Alves, 21, had 80% of the economic rights acquired by the Portuguese club."
