Personally I think Tim Sherwood is not a bad shout, as he has been an OK manager in the past. However, you have to ask why he has dropped off the radar when new managers are being suggested for clubs who are looking for them?

Watford should take their time over the next appointment, but they won't.
We are all but relegated, so let's concentrate on next season. Put someone in place for the long term/future.
Clements and Hughton are not the right choice in my opinion.
I don't have a clue who would be right for the job.
This season is a bust and an embarrassment so far. Let's not cause more laughter by appointing some Jobsworth Manager.
    Think of the future Watford...

Listening to Allardyce on Talksport earlier, he is definitely open to managing Watford if the deal was right. He even accepted that he is seen as a short-term appointment these days. He also defended Watford over the injustice of the missed handball on Saturday.

I think an English manager is not a bad shout, but there needs to be absolute clarity around the recruitment policy and the set of the club. We don’t want to get to January and there is a big fall-out over transfers

It'll be really hard to go to the match if allardyce is the manager. I'll put up with most things at watford but he's a truly despicable human being.

    Big Backhander Allardyce? No thanks.

He wouldn't be interested anyway, not too much he can make money off except his wage

I don’t want Allardyce, His face offends me.

I saw some some article on NewsNow that some of the players wanted an English manager, well screw them it’s not for them to say. We predominantly seem to be linked with English managers but they are all horrific in my opinion and the kind of managers we ridiculed other clubs for having when we were doing well. I’d rather a foreign manager with some potential than a British plodder which i think would set us even further back.

Van Brockhurst, Schmidt, Setien, Viera. The problem is we are not a very attractive a proposition and anyone half decent might be holding out for Everton or WHAM job.

My guess would be we had somebody lined up , they have however now seen arsenal sack their manager and Everton on the brink so stalling for a better offer

The likelihood of Gino appointing Brexit Fat Sam is as likely as Todgers staying at Leicester beyond this season.

That's actually a fair point. Media are speculating if Everton lose the Merseyside Derby. Silva is gone 100% as pending other scores they could be in the bottom three agaim.
Obviously any suiter who may come here, would want to take Arsenal and Everton over us, due to size and money available etc.

Took over Las Palmas when they were in the relegation zone, ended up finishing 11th. Finished 14th with them the next season but quit after he clashed with the board. Took over Real Betis and took them to 6th (qualifying for the Europa) in his first season there. Decent manager.

Without a doubt I think he'd keep us up - but he's a pragmatist, so it'll be another Flores type season which was fine in a first season in the Premier League, however I would like us to progress and not just be a no mark Stoke.

Going to be discussing latest on #WatfordFC on @TheAthleticUK podcast with @David_Ornstein & @markchapman soon.

Just seen images of Hayden Mullins taking training this morning

Latest information is neither Hughton or Clement under consideration for the role as it stands

So if this is correct, it's not going to be Clement, Hughton or Fat Sam considering his TalkSport interview clearly was ruling himself in, but he had not been approached.

I'm actually quite relieved by this.

He can't be bad if the Betis players are begging for his return.

According to a few 'sources' Fat Sam would cost too much in wages - so that is a big red flag against him right from the off.

Well we know he was on £3m per year at Everton which was basically £6m as it was a two year deal he had no chance of seeing out. Only way he’d come if just wanted a job and took less money.

SSN have just stated that they do not expected a new manager announcement today after all. They're still peddling out the names of Hughton and Clements though, so even though they have a reporter at the training ground, it seems like he's clueless.

Good. Someone must have stepped in and asked who on earth agreed to use the word "imminent" when this is a huge decision that requires careful consideration.

  34. As I posted elsewhere, the club have said they will do what it takes to give the new manager the full support.

So they need to prove it and put their hands in their pockets on someone who could possibly pull us out of this. Be it Sam or anyone else. Someone with prem experience who knows how to eek out results against all teams in the league. Not some no-mark nobody from outer Mongolia.

Doubt they will though. Houghton or Clements almost feels like a "let's prepare for a championship campaign" appointment.

Overall I think this delay works in our favour, feels like they are trying to negotiate on a bigger name which takes a little longer. Think we can safely rule out that Houghton nonsense now, it was the bookies making a few quid.
