Hendo may be a donkey but he's posted double-figures two CCC seasons in a row. That is pretty decent imo.

..and if Hendo stays fit and plays enough games he will get into double figures again.

Possibly but there aren't 146 games in a season. :dismay::dismay::dismay:

He's a slow witless donkey who goals per game ratio is truly awful over the last 2 seasons....... sell him for whatever we can get for him.

But you're including a Premiership season where he wasn't alone in being low on confidence and most definitely outclassed. We may aspire to be a Premiership team but we're not there yet. Once you take his last two Championship seasons you see he scores 0.38 goals/game. So that's 1 in every 3 he contributes. Can we really afford to lose him? I think not.

Absolutely - Suffolk Orn please take note. To buy in a forward who in their last two championship seasons comfortably reached double figures would cost a fair sized transfer fee. More than we can afford! If Hendo were to be put up for sale there would be a scramble amongst several CCC clubs to put offers in.

He's ours and he is plenty good enough for this division.

I think the reality is that we no longer aspire to this.

Yes, I do have us down for relegation already -or a narrowly avoiding it at best. It's called reality. Take out Marlon, Adam, and Danny's goals and assists from our performance last season and we are a crap side. I'm saying it now, because that is the reality, RIGHT NOW.

Other than the shambolic goings on at the horrendously mismanaged WFC, however, by and large it's been a lovely summer.

Henderson is the least of our problems.

He has been a double figure scorer for us in the Championship, and is alone in this at this time.

A goal is a goal is a goal. Whether it is bundled in from 2 yards or fired from 40 yards into the top corner. We need all goals.

Don't complain about our only remotely proven striker.

Sorry I don't buy into this, we had him "leading" the line after King left and quite frankly the bloke was dreadful, not just his goal scoring record in the second half of the season but his whole lack of grasp of the game. His behaviour leading up to his sending off at the tail end of the season would have been enough for some managers to have stuck him in the reserves where he belongs.
If Henderson really is the best we've got then we are farked and 12/1 for relegation looks a snip to me.

The whole team was dreadful after Christmas, and before it sometimes.

You could have put Rooney and Ronaldo up there and we would still have got a 5 goal return. Service was none existent, playmaking was non existent, support was non existent. On top of that, Hendo missed two penalties and most of the few chances that came his way.

I am not making excuses for him, which you seem to think I am. He was dreadful.

But he is not the biggest problem in our team, which the midfield is. In fact he is, IMO, a useful dynamic which not every team has. The big battering ram to annoy the CBs and force a few goals through in the 6 yard area.

    :]] - Good one!

He is the useless CF that other teams defenders love playing against, and thanks to Hoofers stupidity, we are paying him far more than we should be for the privilage.

Potty - I understand your point here but you must remember that poor form was only our home games. Our away record was, statisically the best in the division. It was at Vicarage Road that we were poor. 8 wins out of 23 is not very good for a team who had designs on promotion.

See, I don't see how you can justify saying that frankly. The stats say different. And not even obscure ones. The goal scoring ones that all strikers are measured by.

Did you ever watch Henderson play without King?

Ohhh so it was all down to King Marlon? Of course!

It has less to do with Marlon and more to do with partnership with another striker. Question is if we have anyone good enough to partner him. I wonder if he and say Priskin could find a common understanding.

I doubt it but it is probably what Aidy is looking into in Austria.

The real problem is that after the debacle with Henderson at the start of last season which saw Aidy perform a U turn worthy of Gordon Brown proportions he then became fixated by playing to Hendersons one strength. This proved to the detriment of the whole team as results over the second half of the season proved.
It's not just his goal scoring ratio that I find infuriating, and you can't just ignore his strike rate in the Prem season when he was truly awful, it's his lack of pace and total blindness to whats going on around him coupled with his bull in a china shop temperament.
As a bettering ram option, which I have no qualm with, the bench is the right place for him to start games from, but as a main stiking option... then we're doomed, he really is clueless, and I've not even mentioned the two penalty misses that could have taken us up!!!!!!

Why do you make it sound so silly? Without a pacy, skillfull foil to take defenders away and give him space in the six yard box, he's just a fouling lump. Going back to your earlier post, the stats my dear fellow, the stats are my witness.

With all the service in the world henderson would still struggle to score goals. He is not what you would call an out and out goalscorer, and without king the pressure is on him and he has proved he is not up to it. Good forward, but with him as are main forward we are doomed.

Very true (booing fans take a bow please...), but our away performances weren't exactly stellar. In fact they trailed off too in the last few months of the season.

Away performances were better IMO because our very weak midfield didn't get flooded for the whole match, whereas at home possession would always be 35:65 in the opposition's favour and the ball would go from defence to the opposition's defence in one foul hoof.
